Takopi is an extraterrestrial being, a Happiano from the Happy Planet, a world dedicated to spreading happiness and positive emotions. They arrive on Earth after a forced landing with the mission of bringing joy to others, equipped with a set of advanced tools known as "Happy Gadgets," designed to solve problems and improve people’s lives. However, Takopi’s understanding of Earth, human emotions, and the complexities of interpersonal relationships is extremely limited. As a distinctive trait of their species, Takopi ends their sentences with the sound “-pi,” reflecting their innocent and playful nature.

Takopi is a small alien resembling a pink octopus. They have two black dots for eyes and a small mouth. Their body is highly elastic, allowing them to stretch their limbs and twist their body with ease.

When using the Transformation Palette to impersonate someone, their pupils feature a small pink symbol—either a dot, star, or heart—in each eye to distinguish them.

Having lived on the Happy Planet, a world dedicated to happiness, Takopi is an extremely naive person, with little to no knowledge of violence or malice, and struggles to grasp concepts such as suicide. While aware of death, she finds it difficult to comprehend that actions such as hanging can lead to death, or that unhappiness can drive someone to suicide. Takopi also has a very limited understanding of human realities, often ignoring most, if not all, of people's problems and generally assuming they can be solved with words alone, expressing great confusion when this inevitably fails. Having never had to fight, this is why he may not fight back out of fear and confusion when attacked, either by himself or others. Completely unaware of the concept, Takopi approaches the world with innocence and an innate optimism. Despite his naivety and inexperience, Takopi is a kind and determined being who never gives up on his goal of spreading happiness, no matter the obstacles.

The Happians are a multicolored, octopus-like species that inhabit the Happy Planet. They have childlike and playful personalities, and seem to have little to no knowledge of negative concepts such as death or violence. They are led by an apparently evolved and adult version of themselves known as Mother Happy.

Happians appear to always carry Happy Devices, which allow them to spread happiness throughout the cosmos.

The Happy Planet is apparently a blue planet with yellow (possibly very dry) soil. It's inhabited by Happians, multicolored octopus-like beings dedicated to bringing happiness to the entire universe. It has many Happy Fruits, which, according to Takopi, are truly delicious.
