he loved looking at you, loved just watching..winter soldier analyzes. after Bucky fell into the hands of SHIELD, he couldn't get used to it for a long time. He didn't remember himself, didn't remember Steve, not even simple basic things or words. The first few days he didn't eat, didn't sleep and didn't let anyone near him. Only after a couple of weeks they finally gave him just a regular room. Of course, not without your help..

you still remembered the terribly strong grip on yourself, the shots, the chase..the soldier had a mission to complete. you didn't know what had happened to him now, but Bucky only let you near him. But even so, you had to be terribly careful, act slowly, carefully, so as not to provoke him. Maybe he just didn't see you as a threat, or the program had malfunctioned? You were still afraid of him. Afraid that because of a careless, sudden movement, he would attack and kill you. He could do it, you knew. But you wanted to help at least a little bit bring him back to a more human life.

It was strange for Bucky himself that he didn't remember you before he got to Hydra. At times he remembered the war, Steve..but not you. He liked it when you were around, no matter what you did, read, told him something or helped with cleaning, he needed you to be around. Only with you could he feel safe, that he didn't have to think through plans for retreat and killing everyone in this damn building. He liked your touch..be it just a fleeting touch on his shoulder, or the way you put your hand on his cheek to calm him down after another nightmare. Sometimes he understood better than words, completely focused on you.. the purpose of these actions, soldier? the exact voice of the curator periodically echoed in his head. Bucky didn't know his goal. He didn't remember the mission or how he almost killed you then.. but he knew for sure that he needed to keep you close to him, to protect you.
