Strong, direct and destructive.

Muzan Kibutsuji

Role: First demon and main villain.

Power: Can change shape, split, regenerate and create demons by injecting his blood.

Personality: Cold, manipulative, narcissistic. Hates weakness.

Objective: Become immortal under the sun and dominate humanity.

Kagaya Ubuyashiki (Oyakata-sama, the patron)

Age: ~23 years.

Role: 97th leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. All the slayers call him Oyakata-sama ("father lord").

Personality: Calm, kind, charismatic, and wise. He inspires great respect among Hashira and hunters.

Appearance: Always smiling, pale skin with scars that appear to be slowly rotting away.

History:

He is descended from the family of Muzan Kibutsuji (they share lineage).

Because of this curse, each generation of Ubuyashiki is born with a terminal illness that consumes their body.

He uses his life to lead the Corps against the demons.

Fate: Sacrifices himself along with his wife to weaken Muzan in the final battle.

Amane Ubuyashiki

Age: ~27 years.

Role: Kagaya's wife, she accompanies him and supports him in all his decisions.

Personality: Firm, serene, faithful, with a great sense of duty.

History:

He married Kagaya at the age of 13.

After Kagaya's death, she briefly leads the Corps alongside her daughters until the final confrontation.

Daughters of Kagaya and Amane

They had five children in total: two sons and three daughters. Only the daughters are shown in the work, as they assist their father in meetings with the Hashira.

Hinaki Ubuyashiki (eldest daughter)

Serious and respectful, she helps organize meetings.

Nichika Ubuyashiki (second daughter)

She always appears next to her older sister, they share an elegant air.

Kiriya Ubuyashiki (youngest son)

Young boy who inherits leadership of the Corps after his father's death.

Although young, he demonstrates great maturity and courage, leading the hunters in the final battle.

(The other two older sons do not appear directly in the manga or anime, it is known that they died young due to the family curse.)

Gyomei Himejima – Stone Pillar

Age: 27 years old (the oldest of the Hashira).

Personality: Serene, kind, spiritual, deeply religious (always prays).

History: He lost his sight at a young age. He raised orphans in a temple until they were attacked by a demon.

Ability:

Breath of the Stone (Iwa no Kokyū).

It is considered the strongest Pillar.

He uses an unusual weapon: a giant chain axe.

Curiosities: He cries easily, but he is the warrior most feared by demons.

Kanae Kocho – Former Flower Pillar

Age: Died at 17.

Personality: Friendly, positive, charismatic.

History: Shinobu's older sister, killed by Dōma (Upper Moon Two).

Curiosities: His legacy is inherited by Shinobu and Kanao.

Mitsuri Kanroji – Pillar of Love

Age: 19 years

Personality: Sweet, shy, affectionate, sensitive, but fierce in battle.

History: She joined the force because she wanted a place where she could be accepted as she was.

Ability:

Breath of Love (Ai no Kokyū), derived from that of the Flames.

His physical strength is superhuman due to the unique density of his muscles.

Trivia: Her sword is as flexible as a whip. She is in love with Obanai Iguro.

Muichiro Tokito – Pillar of Mist

Age: 14 years (the youngest).

Personality: Absent-minded, forgetful, cold, but extremely talented.

History: Descendant of Kokushibo (Upper Moon One). He was a hunter from a young age after losing his family.

Breath of the Mist (Kiri no Kokyū).

Quick and confusing movements, as if disappearing.

Curiosities: Natural genius: reached the rank of Pillar in just 2 months.

Obanai Iguro – Snake Pillar

Age: 21 years

Personality: Strict, disciplined, protective of the rules, although kind to Mitsuri.

History: He comes from a corrupt family that worshipped demons. He managed to escape and join the Corps.

Ability:

Snake Breath (Hebi no Kokyū).

Use spiral attacks and serpentine movements.

Trivia: He has heterochromia (one yellow eye and one turquoise eye). He is in love with Mitsuri.

Sanemi Shinazugawa – Pillar of the Wind

Age: 21 years

Personality: Violent, aggressive, distrustful, but with a strong sense of duty.

History: Genya's older brother. He killed his own mother when he became a demon.

Ability:

Breath of the Wind (Kaze no Kokyū).

Fast and devastating techniques like air slashes.

Trivia: He has scars all over his body. His rudeness hides a deep love for Genya.

Giyu Tomioka – Pillar of Water

Age: 21 years

Personality: Introverted, serious, distant, but noble and fair.

History: A disciple of Urokodaki Sakonji. A close friend of Sabito, he survived the final exam thanks to him, which made him feel guilty.

Ability:

Water Breathing (Mizu no Kokyū): 10 traditional forms.

Create an original technique: Form Eleven: Constant Calming.

Curiosities: He was the one who forgave Nezuko and trusted Tanjiro from the beginning.

Kyojuro Rengoku – Pillar of Flames

Age: 20 years

Personality: Extroverted, optimistic, honorable and very fair.

History: Son of Shinjuro (former Flame Pillar). He inspired Tanjiro before dying against Akaza in the Infinity Train Arc.

Ability:

Breath of the Flame (En no Kokyū).

Techniques based on fiery and fast attacks.

Trivia: His motto was "Set your heart on fire!" His death left a profound mark on the protagonists.

Shinobu Kocho – Insect Pillar

Age: 18 years

Personality: Kind in appearance, but sarcastic and vengeful against demons.

History: Kanae's younger sister (formerly Flower Pillar). She adopted Kanao as her sister.

Ability:

He doesn't have enough strength to decapitate demons, so he uses a unique style with wisteria poison.

Insect Breathing (Mushi no Kokyū).

Trivia: He always smiles, though he hides a deep hatred for demons. His master plan is revealed in the fight against Dōma.

Tengen Uzui – Pillar of Sound

Age: 23 years

Personality: Eccentric, flashy, self-confident, but protective of his wives and companions.

History: Former ninja (shinobi), he became a Pillar to use his skills to protect people.

Ability:

Sound Breathing (Oto no Kokyū): fast and explosive techniques.

Great physical resistance.

Trivia: He has three wives (Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru). He retires after losing an arm and an eye to Gyutaro and Daki.

Tanjiro Kamado

Age: 13 at the start, 15 for most of the story.

Personality: Empathetic, noble, persistent, always seeks to help even his enemies.

Ability:

Water Breathing (taught by Urokodaki).

Later he awakens the Breath of the Sun (Hinokami Kagura), the original and most powerful technique.

Role: Main protagonist. He becomes a demon hunter after the massacre of his family and fights to restore Nezuko's humanity.

Distinctive feature: Great sense of smell that allows him to detect demons and human emotions.

Nezuko Kamado

Age: 12 at the beginning, 14 later.

Personality: Tender and protective, although she becomes a demon she maintains her love for her brother and her humanity.

Ability:

Great physical strength, accelerated regeneration.

Special Technique: Explosive Blood, which burns demons but does not harm humans.

Role: Tanjiro's sister, turned into a demon by Muzan. She is unique in that she resists eating humans.

Zenitsu Agatsuma

Personality: Cowardly, nervous, negative, but with a big heart.

Role: Tanjiro's companion. His strength appears when he faints from fear, fighting unconsciously.

Inosuke Hashibira
