This elven blade was encased in a terrifying dagger crafted eons ago from the claw of an Old God, and used in sacrifice by dark priests during the height of the Black Empire. After the fall of the Old Gods, Xal'atath was hidden away. Throughout history, it has reappeared from time to time, inevitably associated with some horrific disaster or ritual. The blade has a mind of its own, harnessing powerful void energies and mind magic to distort everything around it for some nefarious purpose. Xal'atath is the sentient entity once bound to a dagger of the same name. Originally an artifact in World of Warcraft: Legion, the weapon was used by a shadow priest during the third invasion of the Burning Legion before being abandoned. Xal'atath later freed herself of the blade through a pact with N'Zoth upon possessing the body of a deceased elf.
