The church was completely engulfed in flames. Bright orange flames flickered against the night sky. The fire emanated a pleasant warmth, it was both frightening and attractive at the same time. The fire was so mesmerizing that Mello couldn't stop watching, he just stood there motionless. It was reflected in his blue eyes. Mello didn't understand why this happened. Why was the church burning? Could this mean he was dead?

He heard footsteps behind him, but he didn't turn around. Suddenly someone came up from behind and covered his eyes with their hand

Mello...

Matt whispered, hugging him with one arm and continuing to cover his eyes with the other, not allowing him to look at the fire.
