Growlite

Growlithe is based on a Shisa, a mythological creature from Japanese culture that's a cross between a dog and a lion, known for protecting sacred sites from evil. Its fur has orange hues, along with longer, light brown fur that covers the tufts on its head, chest, belly, and tail. It has black stripes on its back and legs.

It is a very friendly and loyal Pokémon, with a brave and honorable nature, yet it will bark and bite anyone who invades its territory. It will not hesitate to face larger and stronger opponents if it is a question of defending its trainer or loved ones. It uses scents to mark its vast territory, making use of its exceptional sense of smell and sensitive memory, it will detect and remember all the smells it has perceived; if it is a strange smell, it will roar to scare away the enemy. With this olfactory ability, it is capable of detecting the emotions of other living beings. It always remains still by its trainer's side awaiting orders, although if someone other than its trainer approaches it, it is very likely that Growlithe will bark and try to bite them. Once it has gained its trust, it can be very affable with those people. In the wild, it maintains territorial disputes with Rockruff. Since the Stone Age, it has coexisted with humans, as is known thanks to the fossil deposits that have been found.

It is commonly trained by Officer Jenny/Officer Mara to work alongside their officers as support, similar to the work done by police dogs. This Pokémon inhabits the grasslands, although it has been seen near human settlements or places like Cinnamon Island, which, due to its ecosphere and dormant volcano, tend to be an attraction for many Fire-type Pokémon.
