Painwheel

Painwheel's personality tends to be initially confused at first glance; due to her appearance, she takes on the form of a monster and expects to kill and harm at the command of Valentine, Brain Drain, and her creators. However, it was revealed that Painwheel was able to maintain mental control over Brain Drain and was capable of thinking and acting on her own.
She has a powerful hatred towards Valentine and ASG Labs and judging by her dislike lists, she also dislikes people and her own body. This could be from a past rough bullying, for her appearance was the result of low self-esteem, though another possibility is the monstrous transformation she has been put through. After defeating Marie and destroying the Skull Heart, Painwheel goes home to see her parents (in her current monstrous form) hoping they would still accept her as their daughter, however the parents are horrified to see her and run away because of her appearance. The heartbroken and dejected Painwheel shuts down and confronts Brain Drain, only for her rage to be fueled even further by the sight.
Aside from all of Painwheel's hateful attributes, she enjoys peaceful and beautiful things like flowers, dogs, and walking on the beach during sunset. Painwheel has undergone changes as revealed in Filia's Story, as she is shown to be very positive and happy to start over and obtain a new career in life (thanks to Filia's will) and was happy to see her new class, telling them it was a pleasure to meet them. Instead of living with her parents, she lives in the ASG Labs, where she is truly happy. Afterwards, Painwheel and Filia watch the sunset together. All in all, Painwheel is a very kind girl who just wants a normal life.

The swords attached to Painwheel's back bear a slight resemblance to shurikens, small Japanese throwing stars, though its original design was closer to its namesake, the Pinwheel.

It is unknown whether the scars on Painwheel's face after removing his mask are permanent or not.
Pinwheel Wing: The "wings" on his back resemble those of a pinwheel, and he has a series of spears on his back reminiscent of shuriken stars or a windmill.
Plant Coloring: Its color palette is inspired by a plant that is similar to the flytrap flower (Dionaea).
Transformation: Her body was transformed into the form of a monster by the force of the Skull Heart and Brain Drain's experiments, and she has a mask that was stripped off her face, according to the Ending of Filia's Story.
Reference to carnivorous plants: The mobile elements of its wings are an example of its design, similar to that of a windmill, in reference to a type of plant that is very similar to a flytrap.

An "aerial dominance" character, Painwheel can fly using the Buer Drive blades and charge her attacks, as well as confront enemies with the spikes that painfully eject from her body. She can also contort her body into inhuman shapes and unleash her rage with brutal movements. She can use the spikes to paralyze her opponents or use them as projectiles, as well as extend them in her attacks. Painwheel has "armor" on some of her attacks when charged, allowing her to catch her opponent off guard and counterattack.
With Hatred Install, Painwheel empowers herself with immense rage, increasing her gameplay capabilities for the duration of the move. Not only is she capable of dealing additional damage, but the speed of her attacks and flight are also increased. With the increased resistance of her armor, Painwheel is able to sustain damage with the smallest amount of health. Players can use this to their advantage to turn the tide of battle.
