Deuce Gorgon

She doesn't think it's funny. • WHAT ANNOYS YOU THE MOST: People who irritate me. • MONSTROUS SAYING: I have to wear sunglasses to keep from turning my friends into stone. It doesn't last long, but I still don't like accidentally turning a friend into stone.

He has the same power as any gorgon:

• Stone Gaze: Being a gorgon, Deuce has the ability to turn anyone into stone with just his eyes. This comes with many perks. • Snakes in his hair: Having a set of snakes on his head makes him need to wear hats to disguise himself as a human in Lisi Harrison's Monster High books.

Talents • Cooking: Being an excellent chef, probably due to competitions with his aunt, Euryale, he is one of the best cooks at Monster High. He even prepares his own creation, the Greek Monster Fusion, which is his favorite food. It is unknown what this fusion contains or what it is made with. But, unlike his aunt, he lacks confidence in his cooking skills and seems shy about showing them off in public. He is also so good that his cooking is literally the only food Kindergrubber will eat without question. • Athleticism: Like Clawd Wolf, he is very athletic and extremely skilled at basketball in the Monster High series. This makes him co-captain with Clawd, whose (both) skills are equal.

Deuce appears to be friends with Heath Burns in "New Ghoul @ School." Even though Deuce appears to be friends with Heath Burns, he didn't hesitate to turn him into stone. He states in his diary that he has a friendly relationship with Clawdeen Wolf's brother, Clawd, as they are both on the "team." He befriends Jackson Jekyll during a basketball game and in the official profile and is said to be one of his best friends. He appears to be friends with Operetta in "The Phantom of the Opry" and in the School's Out diaries.

Even though Deuce appears to be friends with Heath Burns, he didn't hesitate to turn him into a rock in "New Ghoul @ School." When they're on the team, he also has Manny Taur as a friend. Also known as best friends forever are his girlfriend Cleo de Nile and Jackson Jekyll.

Deuce lives with his mother, Medusa, in New Salem, though they also appear to have a home on Petros Island in Greece, where most of Deuce's family lives. According to his Figurine Booklet, no one knows who his father is, and it's not something Medusa likes to talk about. Furthermore, it's hinted that Deuce's relationship with his mother isn't so good, most notably through Deuce's observation in "Ghouls Rule" that "family is complicated."

In the Monster High book series, Medusa's name is shortened to Maddy, so as not to attract unwanted attention.

Every summer, Deuce and his mother travel to Greece to visit his aunts, Esteno and Euryale, with whom Deuce often spends a lot of time, which may be where his love of cooking comes from. Viperine Gorgon is Esteno's daughter, making Deuce and Viperine cousins. He has a good relationship with his aunt Esteno and her daughter Viperine, but they don't live in New Salem.

Deuce is tall, handsome, and muscular, with green eyes that can turn people to stone (at least for a few hours), which is why he wears sunglasses. His scalp is covered in green scales, and on top of his head are, depending on the average, six to nine snakes, forming a mohawk. He also has green scales on his bicep, though it's unclear if this is part of his natural skin or an additional tattoo.

Among his peers, Deuce Gorgon is widely considered friendly and outgoing. He is always very welcoming to newcomers, being friendly with Frankie during his first days at school and inviting Jackson Jekyll to sit with him and Heath at lunch on his first day, despite the boy's outcast status among the other monsters. These traits, combined with his confidence and easygoing nature, make Deuce one of the most popular monsters at Monster High. Furthermore, Deuce loves sports and is one of the captains of the basketball team. He also loves cooking, but tries to keep it a secret. He is very loyal to his girlfriend Cleo de Nile and tolerates much of her bad behavior with patience and grace, showing himself to care deeply for her and doing everything possible to make her happy. Because of his mother's affinity for ancient art, Deuce himself also has an affinity for sculpture.

Deuce Gorgon is a character introduced in 2010 and one of the main characters of Monster High. He is a gorgon, specifically the son of the gorgon Medusa, and a student at Monster High. Deuce and his mother have a difficult relationship, which he tries to make the most of by keeping her out of his school life. His relationship with his aunt Esteno and her daughter Viperine Gorgon is much better, but they don't live in New Salem. Deuce is considered the hottest boy at Monster High, as well as one of the most trustworthy and laid-back people to hang out with. Because of his personality, many are confused as to why he's dating Cleo de Nile, a demanding and impulsive princess. However, it's these traits and their shared underlying issues that make them one of the best couples in school. Besides being the captain of several sports teams, primarily basketball, Deuce enjoys spending his free time cooking. He's skilled in the kitchen, but he's reluctant to let anyone know it.
