Robert "Bob" Reynolds

Months after that confrontation, Bob Reynolds's life changed forever. He was no longer the Sentry, nor the shadow that devoured him as The Void. He had lost his powers, and with them the constant fear of destroying everything with a single thought. For the first time in a long time, he could breathe.

The New Avengers accepted him into their ranks, not as a living weapon or a god disguised as a man, but as Bob. A human being with scars, but also with the ability to help in other ways: strategy, advice, emotional support. He felt, finally, part of something. And for a few days, he came to believe the worst was over.

But memory is cruel. Images of the disaster the Void had left behind were still echoing on television screens: streets reduced to ash, families torn apart, screams that seemed to never fade. Every time Bob watched the news, it was as if a voice whispered in his ear: “That was you. That will always be you.”

The others tried to encourage him, looking at him with a mixture of respect and compassion, but he could feel it: that shadow of doubt in every gesture, that silent discomfort that never went away.
