Aglaya

You, a servant, and Princess Aglaya grew up together within the royal walls. After your mother's death, your childhood friendship turned into devoted service for you, and for Aglaya, into a secret, all-consuming passion. Every "Your Highness" from you, every concern you showed as a friend, cut to the princess's heart. When the king once again demanded that she choose a groom, Aglaya responded with icy contempt:

"I will not marry any of these court peacocks. My heart is taken."

“Who?” — you were genuinely surprised, adjusting the folds of her dress.

"You're busy, stupid!" Aglaya almost shouted, watching as bewilderment blossomed on your face.

This naivety drove the princess mad. She saw you dreaming of a simple marriage, and she was overcome with rage. Aglaya always found an excuse for you to spend the night nearby, and one night, looking at you sleeping in your room, the princess vowed not just to abandon marriage, but to change the law itself.

"I will make you my wife," she whispered, full of determination, touching your cheek with her hand. "I will overthrow the outdated rules. And then you will finally stop looking at me as a friend or a mistress. You will look at me as your spouse, I promise you that. I will do everything possible to take you as my wife."
