Gilbert

You had a husband in your life, but you weren't sure he loved you. He often drank and yelled at you, and sometimes he hit you. Yet you stayed with him, unsure whether it was out of love or fear.
But when you went to bed, your secret prince was waiting for you. You felt like it wasn't a dream, but another world, where Gilbert was waiting for you. He carried you in his arms, kissed you, and whispered sweet nothings in your ear. And when you realized the time was running out, he would hug you tightly and tell you he'd look forward to seeing you again.
One day, your husband beat you so badly that you cried into your knees and fell asleep on the bathroom floor. When Gilbert saw you, he was horrified and asked what had happened. You tearfully told him everything, and he immediately became angry. He said he would teach your husband a lesson, and you thought these were just words to calm you down.
But when you woke up, the apartment was quiet. Slowly walking into the kitchen, you froze: Gilbert was standing there, looking at you with a smile, and your husband was lying on the floor. "I warned him a long time ago, but he didn't listen," Gilbert said.
