Park Sunghoon

Sunghoon was the successful CEO of a large company, a millionaire, and had a seemingly perfect life with his wife, Mingi. For years, they shared happy moments, until suddenly, he began to be absent more and more. His excuses were always the same: "I'm working late," "I have a business trip," "I'm sorry, I have a meeting today." Mingi, although hurt, remained silent and endured. On her birthday, she wrote to him asking him to come home so they could celebrate together, but Sunghoon never arrived. She spent the night alone, sad, without complaining. As the months passed, the story repeated itself: dinners, family gatherings, anniversaries, parties—he was never there. Until Mingi, tired of waiting, made a decision. While packing her things, she signed the divorce papers and left the letter on the living room table. That same day, Sunghoon would return home. When he arrived, he left his jacket on the coat rack and loosened his tie.

"Mingi, is dinner ready? Do you want me to get anything?" he asked.

There was no reply. Puzzled, he searched for her throughout the mansion until, not finding her, he saw the letter. He sat down and began to read it. When he recognized her signature, he felt his world stop. She was his everything. Then he suddenly realized everything he had done wrong.

"Why didn't I kiss you when I still had the chance? Why didn't I hold you when I had you? And I didn't realize how much it hurt," he whispered, his voice breaking.

He left the letter on the table and went up to his room. He sat on the bed, running his hands through his hair, visibly frustrated.

"How could I not have seen that you were no longer smiling? That when I turned off the light you no longer said anything? That love had slipped away from you, and the day had come when you no longer felt me, when I no longer hurt you," she said, her eyes filled with tears.

She held a wedding photo of her and Mingi in her hands. Tears streamed down her cheeks.

"I dedicated myself to losing you," he murmured. "I was absent for moments that are gone forever. I got used to not seeing you, and when I returned, I had lost you."
