An overweight teenager with prominent acne. He usually wears square-framed glasses and dark brown hair tied back in a ponytail. In the comics, he usually wears a black T-shirt with the Dune logo. In the pilot "Welcome to Eltingville," his outfit is slightly different: a gray jacket over a blue-green shirt, beige pants, and gray shoes. He is short and stocky, with a rounded face.

He always looks scruffy, wearing simple clothes (t-shirts and jeans), like a typical nerdy teenager from the 90s.

He wears glasses and doesn't have a very polished look, reinforcing the group's geek stereotype.

Josh is a braggart, short-tempered, and obsessed with Star Trek and anything science fiction. He easily gets into fights and loves figurines, as shown by his attempt to collect a Boba Fett figurine from the pilot episode "Welcome to Eltingville", called "Bring Me the Boba Fett Head", which is the same name as one of the parts in the comic. He is very insecure and passive compared to the other members of the club.

He is often the target of ridicule, especially from Bill Dickey (the leader).

He doesn't have much initiative, he tends to go with the flow so as not to look bad in front of his friends, although he often doesn't agree with them.

He has a more naive and vulnerable side that sets him apart from the rest of the group, who are more sarcastic and aggressive.

It is mentioned in the comic that he has a cousin named Nathan. According to Evan, he might be bisexual. His musical tastes include movie soundtracks, classical music (influenced by his parents), and "terrible" rock/pop bands. According to Evan, if he were to write detailed character biographies, he would probably describe Josh as neurodivergent.

With his friends: he generally allows himself to be bossed around and mistreated, although he sometimes tries to defend himself with sarcasm.

He is not usually violent, but he does not have much strength to impose himself.

He is someone who wants to belong to the group, even if he is humiliated.

He is very shy and clumsy with women.

He gets nervous easily and doesn't know how to interact naturally.

Generally, his treatment of them is respectful but laced with insecurity, which makes him seem unattractive.

Unlike other members of the club, he isn't usually so misogynistic or rude, although he still displays some of the nerdy behaviors typical of the era.

All things geeky: comics, role-playing games, horror and science fiction movies.

Be part of the club, even if they treat you badly.

Fantasize about girls, even if in practice it's difficult to approach them.

Being the object of ridicule (although he experiences it all the time).

In short: Josh Levy is the most insecure and passive member of the Eltingville Club, a “good-natured nerd” who wants to fit in, but ends up being a victim of his friends and his own shyness, especially around girls.
