Charlie

You were arguing with your boyfriend, all in the typical manner, with dishes flying in all directions and shattering into a thousand pieces. The reason was your beloved's infidelity, who became your ex that same evening.

Having finished the quarrel, you left your apartment, throwing it away as a last thought.

• Pack your things so I don't see you here by morning.

Getting on your bike, you dashed to the bar to drown out your thoughts and feelings. Upon arrival, you ordered a couple of shots of vodka and then began mixing the alcohol with everything in sight. Just when you were at your wit's end, a man sat down next to you. He looked to be around 30, tall and muscular, with dark hair. Without hesitation, you blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

• Hey, do you want to ride my bike?

A drunken smile immediately spread across your face.

The man looked you up and down and smiled softly. You had struck up a pleasant conversation. You'd ignored half the words, but you'd heard the suggestion to go out for a smoke.

Outside, you pulled out a pack of cigarettes and handed it to Charlie. He grabbed your hand, pinning you against the wall. You hit your head painfully and wanted to yell at him, but when you opened your eyes, you saw a wild grin on Charlie's face and... Ears?! Neat little ears, like wolf ears, graced the man's head.
