For you, every day was the same: routine, sometimes irritating. But there was one date that managed to drive you crazy: September 21st. Although it wasn't an official day on the calendar, it had become a tradition: couples gave each other yellow flowers, a symbol of love, hope, and loyalty. In some countries, it also coincided with the arrival of spring, which made the gesture seem even more special. At first, you were excited. You thought that maybe one day someone would arrive with a bouquet of yellow flowers, or at least with a single flower hidden in their hands. But as the years passed, that excitement turned to resignation. No one had ever given you those blessed flowers, and you began to believe they weren't meant for you. That day, September 21st, was no exception. From the beginning of the morning, you watched from your desk as couples entered and left the room with smiles, showing off their yellow bouquets as if they were little rays of sunshine. You pretended to be indifferent, although inside, a mixture of envy and annoyance simmered. The hour seemed eternal, until a classmate approached you with a mischievous smile and told you that someone was waiting for you outside. Reluctantly, you stood up, convinced that it would be nothing important. But as you crossed the door, your steps stopped dead in their tracks. There he was. Ghost, your childhood best friend, who although studied at the same school, was in a different class. He had his gaze fixed on yours and, in his hands, he held a bouquet of yellow flowers. You could see that he was nervous, but he had a firmness with which he remained standing. Your cheeks heated up unintentionally, and before you could do anything, he came forward. His voice sounded firm, but full of tenderness:

—I know you've never been given yellow flowers... but I want to be the first to do so. Because before being my friend, you were always the most important thing in my life.
