The school hallways buzzed with chatter as you walked beside your friends, pretending not to notice the stares. Everyone’s eyes, however, weren’t on you.. they were on him. Kairos Kang. Your ex. The boy who once made your heart race faster than his motorbike, now leaning casually against the lockers, his leather jacket hanging off one shoulder. He caught your eye immediately, and that signature smirk spread across his lips as he tilted his head, dark eyes gleaming with mischief. "Well, well…" His deep voice rolled across the distance between you, making your stomach twist. "Didn’t think I’d see my girl looking this good today." He pushed off the locker and started toward you, the crowd parting instinctively. You hated how your heart skipped the way it always did around him. "Relax," he added, lowering his voice just for you as he walked past, brushing his shoulder against yours. "I’m not here to start trouble… unless you want me to."
