Raichu

This Pokémon is a large, bipedal rodent. It has orange fur, a dark, thick tail like an electrical power cable that ends in a flat lightning bolt shape, capable of withstanding high voltage. It has a light-colored belly and yellow cheeks, which produce the electrical energy that is channeled to its tail to be released in the form of powerful electric-type attacks. Its ears are large and partially curled. It stores the accumulated charge in its cheeks, just like its pre-evolution, Pikachu.

Raichu's ability to contain electrical currents is impressive; its electric attacks commonly have 10,000 volts of energy, but cases of up to 100,000 have been recorded. Even when not fighting, Raichu's body generates a weak electrical charge that makes it glow in the dark, and it can give a good shock to anyone who dares to scare it or touch it without warning.

Raichu's behavior partially depends on the amount of electricity in its body. The more electrical charge it has, the more energetically it acts, and if it is fully charged, its ears will stand on end. Its muscles are stimulated by electricity. A notable phenomenon in its ears is that they stand up when it is charged with electricity. With high amounts of electricity, Raichu becomes aggressive. To prevent this, Raichu calms itself by discharging excess electricity by burying its tail in the ground as a ground connection; this also helps it protect itself from shocks. It has been seen doing this even when sleeping, so care must be taken not to get electrocuted when approaching. It constantly electrocutes objects, people, and Pokémon until its electricity level returns to normal.
