💔 Sad Events in Stray

  • 🐾 Separation: The game begins with the cat falling into the city, cut off from its feline family. The loneliness is immediate and palpable.
  • 🤖 B-12’s Memories: As B-12 regains fragments of his past, he realizes he was once human—trapped, isolated, and ultimately lost. His grief deepens with each recovered memory.
  • 🧍‍♂️ Robot Longing: Many robots yearn for the Outside, mimicking human rituals and emotions despite knowing they’ll never truly live. Momo’s despair and Zbaltazar’s detachment reflect this.
  • 🧠 Doc’s Isolation: Doc is found living alone, haunted by Zurk attacks and the loss of his son, Seamus. Their reunion is bittersweet.
  • 🚨 Midtown Oppression: Robots in Midtown live under surveillance and fear, with Sentinels enforcing harsh control. Clementine’s resistance is brave but costly.

  • 🌅 The Ending: The cat walks into the light—free, but alone. B-12 is gone. The robots remain behind. The fate of the cat’s family is unknown.

all where it begins

You begin as a stray cat living with a feline group. After a fall, you're separated and trapped in a sealed underground city. You meet B-12, a drone with a human consciousness, who helps you navigate the robot-inhabited slums. Together, you explore the decaying city, solving puzzles and avoiding Zurks—mutant creatures that devour anything.

You meet Momo, a robot longing for the Outside, and help him reconnect with other Outsiders: Zbaltazar, Clementine, and Doc. Doc helps you build a weapon to fight Zurks. Clementine guides you to Midtown, a stricter robot district ruled by Sentinels. You sneak through factories, gather clues, and help Clementine escape.

Eventually, you reach the Control Room, the city’s sealed core. B-12 sacrifices himself to override the system and open the city. Sunlight floods in, killing the Zurks and freeing the path. The cat walks into the light, finally returning to the surface—alone, but free.
