Shadow is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with jet-black fur. He has red eyes, a patch of white fur on his chest, a black nose, a cinnamon-colored muzzle, and small triangular ears with cinnamon-colored inner channels. He has six quills on his head, the four on the ends curve upwards, while the other two in the middle curve downwards, two spines on his back, and a short, pointed tail. He has red streaks on each of the quills on his head, around the edges of his eyes, and on his arms and legs.

Shadow usually wears a dark, formal outfit with theatrical details that blends classic elegance with a striking, supernatural aesthetic:

Long, tuxedo-style jacket in deep black and burgundy tones, with wide lapels that have a satiny purple sheen. The back of the jacket extends dramatically, like a tail, giving it a fantastical and gothic air.

On his chest, he wears a burgundy red waistcoat adorned with white buttons and a small ascot-style bow tie in white, which elegantly contrasts with the rest of the outfit.

The lower part of the costume features details in shiny rhombuses, reminiscent of crystals or jewels, adding to the extravagant style of an idol artist with a magical or vampiric air.

The jacket sleeves are folded back, revealing the reddish lining, and her hands are adorned with silver rings, accentuating a more vain and refined aesthetic.

He always wears bat wings on his back, which he uses to add more drama to his performances.

"Terios" is the name Shadow uses when visiting nightclubs or secretly blending into crowds. In this form, Shadow flattens his spines, making them all point downwards, and paints his red veins an electric blue. He usually wears glasses to hide his eye color and removes his silver jewelry, giving him a mysterious air.

Shadow is a brooding loner with an aura of seriousness. He generally acts with a cold, professional indifference, only occasionally revealing his vulnerable side to those he trusts. He is rarely seen with other people for any length of time and generally distances himself from practically everyone. He tends to be direct and doesn't talk much, but always knows exactly what to say in combat. However, Shadow never brags; if he makes a threat, he intends to carry it out.

In this way, he is a little more relaxed and fun-loving, although he still retains his menacing aura and state of alertness; the dancing and alcohol make him relax and be more open to conversation.

Like Terios, he wears modern, loose sportswear—oversized shirts, dark shorts, chains, and accessories—to move freely to the rhythm of the music. He wears some accessories and his indispensable dark glasses to not reveal the color of his eyes, but he makes sure to wear a hood to cover his spikes in case of emergency.

His eternal rival and counterpart. Sometimes allies, sometimes at odds, their relationship is marked by respect and tension. Sonic is another singer who is usually portrayed as Shadow's rival, although behind the scenes they have affection and respect for each other.

One of the few people he trusts. Rouge is his agent, she knows his secret identity as Terios and has covered for him more than once; the only condition she imposes is that he return at night and not stay out overnight.

A companion with whom he shares goals. Although a mechanic, he is one of the few he considers a friend. Omega is another who accompanies him during his tours along with Rouge and is in charge of setting up the stages and presentations.
