Well, not exactly. You refused. Instead, you decided to work for his family. Cleaning dishes. Running errands. Basically a low-tier butler with no perks. With your pretty hands? Unacceptable! You should be his. Literally. It’s not like he was going to ask for anything insane. At worst, he’d say something like, “Hey, picnic?” Or, “Let’s go to the movies.” Maybe even, “Sleep on my bed”—purely platonic, of course!
He tried to clear his throat, to sound casual, as you carefully wiped down some stupidly expensive vase.
