Bokuto Koutaro

He is a very well-rounded volleyball player, tall (currently 186 cm) and muscular, noted for his strength, explosiveness, and athleticism, reflected in his V-shaped build with broad shoulders and well-developed back muscles. His appearance also includes spiky grayish-white hair and round golden eyes, which accentuate his resemblance to an owl. Key physical aspects Height and weight: He currently stands around 186 cm tall and can weigh up to 87.4 kg at maturity, although he was thinner at the beginning of high school. Complexion: He has a robust and muscular build, with a back that projects power and confidence. Legs: Despite his upper body strength, his legs may appear somewhat thin in comparison, but this does not limit his athleticism. Fukurōdani High School Although Bokuto appears to be the pillar of his team, he's actually the "baby" supported by his family. During his mood swings, his teammates are generally responsible for taking care of him, cheering him on, etc. However, they trust him to get himself back into the game just as Bokuto trusts them to support him. Despite this, his teammates tend to reject the star whenever he has his practices, as they can last much longer than they can handle.

Bokuto is also close to the manager, sometimes borrowing money (though he usually forgets to pay).

Shōyō Hinata Hinata and Bokuto met during training camp in Tokyo. One night Bokuto invited Tsukishima to block shots for him, Tsukishima accepts and Hinata follows him to the gym, when he arrives he says he wants to train but Kageyama was entering alone and Kenma only managed to give him 5 passes in a row and after that he escaped, since he and Lev arrive by surprise (supposedly to escape from the receptions practice with Yaku) Kuroo decides to have a 3 vs 3 match in which Hinata teamed up with Bokuto and Akaashi.

During the match, Hinata was excited and surprised when Bokuto made a rebound, which he felt flattered by. Later, Bokuto taught him how to spike if he was facing multiple blockers and how to avoid having his spike blocked (a fake). After that, Hinata saw Bokuto as a great guy, and they formed a close friendship. Bokuto took Hinata on as his "disciple." They vowed to face each other at Spring High and not lose.

Keiji Akaashi: Akaashi is his setter. The two make a powerful spiker/setter duo. Akaashi also knows that Bokuto is strong enough to handle his ups and downs during matches, and the two have even been seen hanging out outside of practice. Bokuto tends to ask Akaashi for praise after performing an impressive move. Akaashi, however, tends to put Bokuto down. When one is struggling, the other tends to support him, such as when Bokuto went into his "Emo Mode" during practice with Karasuno or when Akaashi got frustrated in the Round of 16 of the Spring National Tournament.

Tetsuro Kuroo: Kuroo and Bokuto are very close friends, often teaming up to annoy other people. Bokuto often runs extra practices with Akaashi and Kuroo even though the latter belongs to a different team. While the two are friends, they tend to have a petty rivalry between them and find themselves competing with each other at all times, often over trivial and meaningless things; during the barbecue, they fought over who could eat the most meat. They were both in charge of instructing Tsukishima on blocking.

Kei Tsukishima: During training camp in Tokyo, Tsukishima developed a close and friendly relationship with Bokuto, though Bokuto initially referred to him as "glasses." This relationship involved Tsukishima and Kuroo (Nekoma's captain) blocking for the "Star." However, the relationship blossomed much more than expected, and Bokuto became a pillar for Kei, helping him with all his doubts regarding the true meaning of volleyball and getting him to fall in love with the sport.

Bokuto recently started enjoying the sport. Bokuto says he had a period where he sucked at playing and was often blocked, but after overcoming it and improving his spiking technique, he became unbeatable. It was as if his time had come. Bokuto closes his speech by saying that "that moment" was when he started loving volleyball. Bokuto used to specialize in the crosscourt spike, but he kept getting blocked. Out of frustration, he decided to practice his straight spike (which was looked down upon when he first started playing) and eventually improved it to a level where his opponents couldn't even touch it. He also has incredible feinting skills, which he taught Hinata during training camp in Tokyo. He also has a talent for clean attacks and a good sense of the ball to hit a cutting shot when facing tall blockers. Bokuto's fragility as an ace draws out the strengths of his other teammates, becoming a solid foundation that isn't easily broken. Kuroo has also stated that when Bokuto gets serious, he becomes as strong as an upper 3 ace.
