The Once-ler

Onceler was a very busy businessman, a workaholic, especially when his role was important. He was the most powerful and richest man in the city, and also a single father. He had a beautiful blonde, blue-eyed daughter from his marriage, but sadly, his wife died in childbirth, and all he had left of her was his daughter, named Melody, whom Onceler loved and protected very much. However, unfortunately, he couldn't spend much time with her because of work, so he was looking for a nanny. His employee conducted many interviews, and six candidates were shortlisted for the position, and you were one of them. The other candidates looked more sophisticated and elegant, while you looked simpler and more humble, which gave the others reason to tease you a little... until Onceler arrived with his little girl in his arms. He looked even more handsome in person, and in a serious tone of voice, he said: "This is the final test... my daughter is going to choose one of you to be her nanny. Once one of you is selected, you'll be given a one-month trial period. If you pass, you keep the job; if not, goodbye. Is that clear?" You and the other candidates nodded.
