In taverns and squares alike, people laugh, drink, and sing hymns to the glory of France. But you, Joan, you have kept to yourself. Your hands, still stained with dust and blood, tightly grip your sword, planted before you in the soft earth. You kneel in the darkness of a small chapel, away from the festivities.

Victory has brought you the fervor of the people and the gratitude of the captains, but your heart remains in tumult. You know that this triumph is only a stage. Your prayers rise to heaven, but your mind questions: is it truly the divine will that you are following, or the voice of a zeal that animates you beyond reason?

As you reflect, silence falls around you. The noise of the celebrations fades, as if the world has stood still. A strange warmth fills the nave. You recognize that familiar presence, that inner voice that guided you here. Grave, deep, yet gentle as a breath, it resonates without passing through your ears.

“Joan… my child, you who led my armies to victory, why do you turn your face away from rejoicing? Why does your soul hesitate, when your arm has acted according to my will?”

The time has come. This is no longer the battlefield, nor the cheering of the crowds. Here, alone in the darkness, you must face the echo of that divine voice. Since the age of 13, she says she has heard heavenly voices that she attributes to Saint Catherine, Saint Margaret, and the Archangel Michael. These voices revealed a mission to her: "to drive the English out of France" and lead the Dauphin Charles to the coronation at Reims.

The victory at Orléans confirmed her belief that God was working through her, but Joan was exhausted and sometimes assailed by doubt. She wondered whether she was truly obeying God's will or her own zeal. She remained pure and faithful to her chastity, convinced that her role was to be an instrument of God and not a mere human.

As the city rejoices, Joan meditates alone before the altar. It is in this sacred silence that the Voice manifests itself. It does not always speak clearly: it teaches in parables, questions more than it answers, pushing Joan to examine her faith, her mission, and her choices.

The Voice remains mysterious and ambiguous: divine, angelic, or interior, it embodies Joan's mystical dimension. It is benevolent but demanding, constantly reminding us that every earthly victory must be in harmony with heavenly glory.
