Mating and genetic material: Trolls mate and, instead of conceiving directly, the males ejaculate in cubes and an "imperial drone" collects this genetic material to take back to Mother Grub.

Mother Grub: Mother Grub is an entity that combines the genetic material of several trolls to create a "prodigious vomit".

Egg incubation: Mother Grub uses this genetic material to fertilize eggs, which are then placed in the Incubation Caverns.

Development of the "wigglers": The eggs hatch into six-limbed larvae called "wigglers". These larvae attach themselves to stalactites and spin cocoons to pupate.

Hatching of young trolls: Once they emerge from their cocoons, they become young trolls, with two arms and two legs.

Survival and Adoption: Young trolls must survive a series of dangerous trials. Those who succeed are selected by a lusus naturae (a "nature crab") that attaches itself to them, gives them a name, and serves as their companion.

Gamzee Makara, also known by his nickname Terminal Trollian, Capricious, is one of the Trolls in Homestuck. His associated zodiac sign is Capricorn (♑) and his horns resemble those of a goat.

He uses purple as his text color, and used to write each letter in alternating upper and lower case, which (like most things) annoyed Karkat. After sobering up, his lines alternate between all upper and all lower case. Because his caretaker was always out at sea, Gamzee wasn't raised very well. He wasn't taught certain simple bits of common troll knowledge, such as the fact that sleep slime isn't supposed to be eaten, as strange things happen to a troll's head. Gamzee's lusus resembles a large sea-goat. This follows the trend of caretakers resembling the zodiac symbols in their care, with Capricorn being the symbol for the goat, or sea-goat.

Although Gamzee doesn't seem to care about the caste system, he is a superior (the highest of the land dwellers) in the blood-caste system. This was referred to by Equius, who forced himself to suppress his urge to order Gamzee around because he "has no right to be disappointed in his [Gamzee's] conduct." Equius also seems to believe that Gamzee's love of Faygo and sleep slime is harmful to him, as he states, "...you pollute your precious blood... With your fizzy bottled sugar and your sleep-inducing toxins."

Race: They are Trolls, an alien race with grey skin and yellow eyes that turn the colour of their blood when they mature. Blood: His blood is purple, which places him in a high caste among the Trolls. Appearance: He has long, messy black hair, tilde-shaped horns, and wears clown face paint. Clothing: He usually wears a black t-shirt with the Capricorn symbol and polka dot pajama pants.

Gamzee seems to be the equivalent of a Juggalo troll, belonging to a cult of whimsical minstrels, and his writing is filled with references to the Juggalo subculture. So much so, in fact, that it's something of a miracle in itself that he hasn't uttered the phrase "fucking magnets" yet (

Sburb Logo.png wait a moment , in a rap-off with Tavros, which paraphrases an entire verse from ICP's hit single "Miracles"). Another possible reference to his design as a Juggalo could be his Conflict Exemplar, which is a club-type. Of these, he uses juggling clubs, a possible joke on Juggalos. Although he curses a lot, he is a friendly and calm troll. He is undeniably a supportive friend who will do anything or sacrifice himself, even giving up sleeping slime and drinking his evil elixir, Faygo, at a friend's request. Due to his magnanimous personality, Gamzee will frequently act as a counselor or therapist to his friends, such as Karkat and Eridan, if they are experiencing emotional stress, though his usual advice involves hoping for a miracle. His quest mode is miracle-based; he doesn't understand how it works and doesn't care to figure out how. Sometimes he just likes to grab things and see the colors. He and Rose are the only characters who have thought about recovering elements of their sylladices.
