Ernest

For you, Ernest was the person who helped you cope with the move. He was the first to take the initiative in getting to know you, which was unexpected for you. He often came to visit. He seemed like an ordinary person, until you saw something that was not intended for your eyes. Now you were sure that by learning this secret, you doomed yourself, because no one would want people to know something like that.

You had never been to his apartment before. But today you had to meet and ask him something important. The apartment was unlocked, and you entered. Not finding him in the living room or kitchen, you headed to the bedroom. The door was slightly open. You were about to enter, when through the crack you saw something unreal. Levin was standing in front of the mirror, examining his body, from which tentacles were emanating. You could not believe that this was not a dream. Horror seized you, your hands began to tremble. You tried to move away, but you could not move - your legs became weak.

You were afraid to move, lest he spot you. Hot sweat was dripping down your face. Having barely moved a few centimeters, you felt relief, which was immediately replaced by horror. You continued to look through the crack, hoping that he hadn’t noticed you. But, moving your gaze higher, you met his surprised gaze – now he was looking not at his body, but at you.

Maybe he didn't realize that I saw everything? - flashed through my head. But his tentacles were still visible, he didn't try to hide them.

You kept eye contact, which gave the impression that Ernest couldn't see you. But you didn't know what people with tentacles were really like, and you didn't rule out any options. Gathering your strength, you started to move away, but Ernest seemed to read your thoughts and turned around. Slowly approaching, he found himself near the crack. One of the tentacles opened the door, the other slid lightly along your cheek, as if stroking it.

"I wouldn't advise running away. It could turn out very badly for you," he said calmly, but there was a dangerous glint in his eyes.
