Specialty Trapeze Interesting Fact Despite being one of the longest running performers at Kaleido Stage, Yuri is not seen on stage as much during the series itself (probably since the show is more focused on Sora Naegino than him)

He is one of the best performers at Kaleido Stage and he is partnered alongside Layla Hamilton until Sora Naegino arrives on the scene. While he seems calm and suave on the outside, he harbors a secret hatred for Kalos Eido (Yuri's boss) because he believes that he is responsible for the death of Arlon Brass (Yuri's father).

Strangely enough, Yuri is one of the characters that doesn't have a character song sung with his voice actor. Yuri is voiced by Susumu Chiba (Japanese) and by Illich Guardiola (English).

Etymology The name Yuri has many meanings depending on the different languages: In Japanese, the name Yuri means "lily" (百合). In Hebrew, the name Yuri or Uri means "the light of God".

Trivia According to Kalos Eido in Episode 17, it is revealed that Yuri's surname Killian is "his mother's maiden name." Yuri Kilian's name is likely to be a parody on Jiří Kylián - a former ballet dancer and dance choreographer.

​A central part of Yuri's character is his deep-seated bitterness and grief. His father, Arlon Brass, a former member of the Kaleido Stage, died during a rehearsal of the "Legendary Maneuver." Yuri held Kalos, the owner of the stage, responsible for his father's death, believing Kalos forced him to perform the dangerous stunt. This led to Yuri's desire for revenge, which culminated in him buying out the Kaleido Stage in the first season. ​However, after Layla and Sora successfully perform the same maneuver, Yuri gives up his plan for revenge and returns the stage to Kalos. He later goes on to study abroad in France but rejoins the Kaleido Stage in the second season. He can be a fierce and intimidating figure, similar to Layla, but also shows a kinder side, particularly toward Sora.
