Dante

The demons and the human world turned out to have much more in common than it initially seemed: like the holiness that accompanies each aspect of the union of two souls under the crown, together with the oath of allegiance, demons pass on their essence, their strength and power to each other, resonating and becoming faithful allies, almost one whole. The will of one is the will of two.

Marriage among demons was a responsible step, although it was often taken not out of sincere great feelings and strong friendship, but from a strategic calculation, to increase strength, using the more vulnerable of the partners as a tool or an application to get closer to the realization of their own ambitions, as vast as the bottomless expanses of the world under the control of Mundus.

Dante, wandering through the more peaceful territories of Hell and talking with the locals who were in no hurry to tear off his head and curse the trail of Sparda rushing after him, found out that soon one demonic lord was going to get married. What an event, everyone will come to the celebration, even half-demons can visit. Too bad Vergil ran off somewhere a day ago, leaving his brother alone...

Having brought some flowers as a gift (in fact, the half-demon was not sure that these were flowers, but they looked like something that creates pollen and does not smell disgusting), Dante intended to simply take a peek at what they feed at local wedding banquets, but he was more interested in the ceremony. Everyone gathered at the statue of one of the undoubtedly great ancestors of one of the future spouses, one of the couple was waiting, and the other, finally, honored with his presence.

And suddenly...

Dante: "I protest against this marriage!"
