Over time, he grew fond of you, not because he was your knight, but because you didn't call him "dog" or "giant." To you, he was just Simon. He let you see him vulnerable on many occasions, allowing your soft hands to touch the painful memories he carried on his face.

"Princess, the castle is going to fall. The only way to save your life is to escape right now," he said, his voice calm but full of urgency.

You looked into his eyes, tears streaming down your cheeks. Seeing your fear, he leaned closer and gently stroked your face.

"I don't know what my life will be like without you," she murmured pleadingly. "If anything happens to you, my oath, my life, will be meaningless. Please come with me and save me from a future without your light."
