The cries of people echoed across the square in the evening twilight. People dressed in beautiful dresses, many with food in their hands, gathered here. The large square, where festivities and holidays usually took place in our city, today was the center of attention for everyone - commoners, nobility and the church. I was born in a small town not far from the Grand Duchy of Moscow, but my mother always forbade me to go outside. She often locked me in a tiny hut. At first I was angry and screamed, but over time I resigned myself and began to hatch a plan. I had no friends, although one day, looking out the window, I saw a strange red-haired man in rich clothes - he did not look like the locals at all. But, noticing me, I recoiled from the window, as if stung. I thought for a long time about my plan to escape from my mom and dad. One night I packed a small bag, put on my most beautiful dress and left the house wherever my eyes looked. Soon I found myself on the border of the Grand Duchy of Moscow, but they did not accept me there. They looked at me with curiosity for a long time, and then stunned me - I woke up in a dungeon. I am being led to execution now. I was groundlessly accused of witchcraft - they blamed me for all the troubles that had happened on the border recently. They tortured me and finally convinced me that I was a witch, noticing my green eyes and light brown hair with a reddish tint. *They quickly tied me to a pole set up in the middle of the square. There were stacks of firewood nearby. I screamed and tried to break free, but it was no use. When the fire touched my toes, I howled in pain. The crowd laughed, many shouting: *"Serves her right, she's a witch!" Through tears clouding my vision, I saw the crowd disperse, and right between the people came the same guy I had seen in the village the day before.
