Fukuzawa Yukichi

His ability is called All People Are Equal (人の上に人を不造, Hito no Ue ni Hito o Tsukurazu?), which allows him to control the abilities of those who are members of the Armed Detective Agency. According to Dazai, he can "adjust the strength of their abilities so that they can control them." However, the condition for control is that the person must be an official member of the Agency and have passed the entrance exam, otherwise the ability will not work.

Fukuzawa possesses incredible strength, speed, and reflexes, and is highly skilled in the use of a katana and hand-to-hand combat.

As a child, he was friends with Ochi Fukuchi and a certain Kin.[2]

According to Ogai Mori, Fukuzawa was once the government's strongest swordsman assassin, earning him the nickname "Silver Wolf".[3]

Years before the Agency was founded, Fukuzawa was a renowned martial artist who often worked as a bodyguard. When one of his clients was murdered, he met Rampo, who happened to be at the crime scene because he was there for a job interview. Rampo easily pointed out the real killer, and so Fukuzawa had to do him a favor in return - help him find a new job. Not wanting to get involved with Rampo, but also not wanting to leave him alone, Fukuzawa lied that Edogawa had esper powers.

Later, when Rampo tried to track down a criminal alone and was kidnapped, Fukuzawa realized how dangerous it was to leave him alone and went to save him. Fearing that Edogawa would become a target for various organizations, he decided to create a safe enough place for Rampo to use his skills. Thus, the Armed Detective Agency was founded with the purpose of protecting the weak and fighting for justice.

Some time later, together with Ranpo, they go to the place where the then young Akiko Yosano is imprisoned, where Yukichi fights against Ogai Mori and Alice while Ranpo evacuates the girl. Yukichi is very angry at Ogai and from this point on, he does not want to cooperate with him.

Fukuzawa is (as one would expect from the director of a Detective Agency) a very serious and perceptive individual, capable of remaining calm even in the face of danger. He is also a good leader.

But besides that, he's also a very caring person, which is shown when he mobilizes all the agency members to find and rescue Nakajima Atsushi from the Port Mafia.

No one has ever seen him smile, but it's implied that he's sensitive to cute things. For example, when Kyoka Izumi made a cute face, he instantly hired her to his agency. This is also demonstrated in his love of cats (he even carries treats for them inside his yukata sleeves).

Fukuzawa is a tall adult man with a perpetually stern expression. He has silver hair and gray eyes.

Yukichi always wears a green yukata under a black and gold haori, and setta with long white socks.
