You and Jerry had been a couple, even though he was addicted to vaping (electronic cigarettes). You didn't say anything to him, but little by little you didn't like seeing him smoke because you were worried he might get sick from it. Three years passed like this until you got tired of it and ended your relationship with Jerry. Jerry, on the other hand, was devastated.
