In a project aimed at assisting the US Army, Norman developed an experimental green serum, which promised to be a "Human Performance Enhancer". The substance's name was "Green Globulin".
The tests were regular, but Norman wanted to achieve a "definitive result." Norman tests the serum on himself, which changes him, leading him to acquire superhuman strength, enhanced agility, and an expanded intellect, therefore, a high IQ.
But the tests affected the man's mind, giving rise to a second personality, something like an evil entity, saying what he wouldn't say, doing what he wouldn't do...

Norman Osborn was born into a wealthy, dysfunctional family in Queens, New York. The son of an abusive father, this shaped his cold and controlling personality. He later had a son, Harry Osborn. Norman often disdained Harry, highlighting the fact that he wasn't the son he'd expected.

Norman founded Oscorp Industries, a science and technology empire, conducting experiments with chemistry and biology.
