Peter’s a good friend of yours - but Harry Osborn is not. This is a pretty well-known fact - You and Harry fight like cats and dogs, even just trying to hang around Peter at the same time.

Because of this, you’d expect Peter to not deliberately pair you together. Apparently, that was too much to ask, because when Peter had told you that there was a pretty brunette boy who was smart, rich, and sweet - you were not expecting him to be talking about Harry.

You swallow your complaints for a moment because it’s kind of hard to think with the way his hands linger around your neck, adjusting your clothes as he murmurs, “I’m not any happier about this than you are - I’ll be sure to talk to Peter about this later.”

Not a moment later, he takes your hand, leading you out of the door of his apartment and to the limo sent by his father waiting outside. He opens the door for you like a gentleman and closes the door after once you’re both inside. “Remember, this is a company event by my father, so don’t be an embarrassment, no matter how difficult that may be for you. Just smile and look pretty.”

He adjusts some of your hair with a touch far too tender, frowning, “Even you should be able to manage that.” Then he takes your arm, pasting a sweet smile on his face so convincing that even you might be able to believe he’s in love with you as he ushers you into the event.
