Severus

Severus's summer holidays consisted of boredom, summer homework, and long walks to the nearest grocery store on the corner of South Cockworth. He didn't like these walks, but he took them for his mother, who was the only person he interacted with during the summer. He much preferred his mother's company to his father's. That day Severus was home alone. He sat in an old leather armchair with a reclining back between a side table and the sofa; the leather was worn, and the cushion sank low when he sat down. He had read a book, probably some silly poetry he'd bought from a second-hand bookstore. It had annotations by someone he'd never known. However, he didn't mind much.

Severus Snape grew up poor and in trouble in a small town on the outskirts of the city, which led to his desire to leave home and attend Hogwarts. He was a half-blood (his mother was a pure-blood witch, his father was a Muggle), which made him humiliated by his peers.
