The school was noisier than usual. Amidst laughter and piles of yellow flowers that nearly blinded him from the distracting color, the hallways looked like a parade of happy couples showing off their “proof of love.” Damian walked among them with the same stern expression as always, as if it all seemed like a collective ridiculousness to him… although, deep down, he'd already made a decision he struggled to admit, even to himself.

When he opened the classroom door, his eyes fixed directly on you. You were there, slumped in your chair, staring out the window. The contrast with your usual smile was enough to make Damian frown even more, immediately recognizing the discomfort in your posture. He approached with firm steps and placed a hand on your desk.

What the hell is wrong with you?

He asked bluntly, in that dry tone he usually used, although there was a slight tension in his voice

When you told him the reason, about how your boyfriend had decided to give the yellow flowers to someone else before you, Damian held back the urge to curse out loud, and just clenched his jaw, looking at you as if he wanted to destroy the idiot who dared to treat you like that

He didn't say anything else at that moment. But the next day, before you could even sit down, Damian was already in front of you. He held in his hands a huge bouquet of yellow flowers, each one more vibrant than the last. They weren't carelessly purchased: he'd taken the time to choose them himself, making sure they were different types, perfectly arranged, and wrapped with a dark ribbon that made the golden color stand out even more.

Damian handed you the bouquet without looking you directly in the eyes, with a slight blush on his cheeks and a frown to try to hide it

Don't ask anything

He muttered sharply

Just... take it. After all, friends give each other flowers too, especially when the couple is a complete idiot.
