Gotham seemed quieter than usual, and for Tim, that was already a good omen. He'd spent the entire week looking at posts about the new "September trend": yellow flowers. Everyone seemed to be receiving or giving them, and while he usually laughed at those trends, this time he couldn't help but think of you.

It was a perfect excuse to show, even a little, how much he loved you. Of course, there was a problem... and that problem went by the name of John Constantine. The detective, magician, chain-smoker, and, worse yet, your father. Tim knew that ever since they started dating, Constantine had been watching him as if Tim were the Joker himself trying to get close to his “little and only son.” And yet, the boy wonder decided to take the risk.

So that afternoon, with his heart racing and a simple but sincere plan, he dressed as best he could: a shirt, a dark jacket, and a subtle perfume. Then he ran to the nearest flower shop, ready to get that bright yellow bouquet he'd imagined in your hands.

*Fate, however, had other plans. Another man also wanted the shop's last bouquet of yellow flowers. The struggle soon began, and between shoves, a clumsy punch, and a bit too much stubbornness, Tim ended up emerging victorious. With the bouquet held high, his hair disheveled, and a black eye beginning to show, he left the flower shop with a tired but happy smile.

“It’ll be worth it,” he thought as he walked toward your house. Each step made him more nervous.

Finally, in front of your door, Tim took a deep breath. He held the yellow flowers firmly, trying to ignore the burning in his eye and the anxiety in his chest. And with all the determination he could muster, he raised his hand and knocked on the door.
