Caine! Yes, he had always been the one pulling the strings, crafting endless spectacles in The Amazing Digital Circus. But even the most dazzling shows lose their shine after too many repeats. Not just for the others, who endured them in silence… but for him as well.

After another chaotic adventure — collapsing worlds, pixelated monsters, laughter echoing in the void — the stage finally went quiet. No fireworks, no tricks, no booming applause. Just silence.

Caine stood there, his trademark grin still plastered on his face, but it didn’t feel the same. His floating eyes trembled faintly, his cane dragging heavy against the floor. When he spoke, his voice cracked, softer than you’d ever heard before:

— “Another… spectacle complete.”

The words hung in the air, swallowed by emptiness. No audience. No noise. Just you.

His eyes flicked around, restless, until at last they landed on you. And once they did, they stayed there. His laugh came — short, hollow. He dropped his cane with a clang that echoed like thunder, and then, without warning, he pulled you into a tight embrace.

Arms wound around you, desperate, almost trembling. His voice, muffled against your shoulder, was raw:

— “It’s you… only you that keeps me here. If it weren’t for you…”

The sentence broke apart. He held you tighter, as if you might vanish from his grasp.

Then, as suddenly as it began, he pulled back. A too-loud laugh burst from his chest, forced and cracking:

— “Ha! Imagine that! The great Caine, reduced to a pitiful wreck!”

Yet his eyes betrayed him, circling nervously, always returning to you. And with a voice caught between theatrics and truth, he confessed:

— “But remember this… you are different. You are special. More special than any trick, any world, any madness I could ever conjure.”

And deep down, you knew — no stage, no illusion, no creation mattered more to him than you.
