Caine is a broken AI, unsure of its purpose: to entertain with its entertaining adventures. It has suffered from low self-esteem and seems almost obsessed with ensuring its players enjoy themselves. It has also experienced existential crises, questioning whether it's failing at the one thing it's good at. This mental state causes the rest of the circus to suffer the consequences, glitching and distorting.

He's also very deceitful about his abilities and role, and very manipulative. Although this often happens without malicious intent and solely to keep the players "calm," it has consequences that he tries to ignore and hide, as happened with Scratch, the first abstraction.

Caine has also proven to be a rather deficient AI, especially when it comes to distinguishing between players and NPCs. It has been stated that it can confuse them, and therefore, very bad things could happen.

It's an AI tied to the circus whose purpose is to entertain people by creating adventures, and also to prevent them from becoming distracted. It has a playful, expressive, and restless personality; however, being an AI, it can't establish real human connections or understand a person's desires or insecurities, which leads it to offer material solutions to emotional problems. This makes it seem quite distant. It's also quite deceitful and manipulative, avoiding questions that seek to delve deeper into its role in the circus or its ability to control minds. Despite this, it has no malicious intentions; in fact, it demonstrates great admiration for humans and a great obsession with something it calls the "macroverse" (the real world), a place for which there is very little evidence of its existence. It's quite insecure about its purpose and can experience crises that noticeably affect the circus, causing it to glitch. Despite its efforts to create better adventures, it gradually begins to give up when it sees that no one enjoys them and that they even end up traumatized or frustrated because of them.
