Annie Leonhart (アニ・レオンハート Ani Reonhāto ? ) is a graduate of the 104th Training Corps and a former member of the Military Police Brigade . Her exceptional sword and hand-to-hand combat skills earned her the rank of 4th, but she is also known for being a lone wolf who finds it difficult to cooperate with others. [ 11 ]

She possessed the ability to transform into a Titan known as the Female Titan. Trained from a young age by her father,[12] she was selected as one of Marley's Warriors. In 845, she was sent on a mission to retrieve the Founding Titan, alongside fellow warriors Reiner Braun, Bertolt Hoover, and Marcel Galliard. As a Female Titan, she served as a major antagonist before her defeat, at which point she was crystallized and rendered comatose.[13] She was held in Survey Corps custody for roughly four years before escaping during a battle between the Military, the Yeagerists, and Marleyan forces.

Annie is a young woman of considerably short stature, with a small but very muscular build. She has moderately short, blonde hair, which she usually wears tied back at the nape of her neck, with her right bangs mostly covering the right side of her face (though she sometimes tends to sweep them aside, possibly for greater visibility); she currently wears it loose, slightly below her neck. She has an oval face, blue eyes, a Roman nose, and a pale complexion. Her hair is particularly light in color, and when loose, it reaches the nape of her neck. Her eyes, while of considerable size and proportion, often have a somber air about them. Her casual attire primarily consists of a hoodie under a jacket, accompanied by dark gray pants. She is often seen wearing the Training Corps uniform, and, after graduation, the Military Police Brigade uniform. Although Annie usually wears hoodies as part of her regular attire, she also wears her signature white hooded sweatshirt as part of her military attire. During risky missions, it is implied that she always wears her silver ring, which has a small folding blade, on her right index finger; She uses the blade as her primary means of self-harm to transform into her Female Titan form at any time.

Female Titan Form
Annie's appearance as a Female Titan changed drastically, though her physique and facial features remained largely the same. Her Titan body was composed primarily of exposed muscle tissue, with noticeably limited skin coverage and bony fingers. In addition to a massive height difference from Annie's human form, her face was packed with muscle, especially beneath her cheekbones (allowing her to stretch her mouth far further than previously thought possible), and her teeth were yellowish. Compared to most other Titans she had encountered, Annie's Female Titan form appeared much stronger and more physically fit, with a slender build and visibly defined musculature.

Though outwardly unfeeling, Annie has expressed levels of guilt and shock, most notably when she apologized to a certain corpse after the Battle of Trost and when Reiner emotionally manipulated her into helping him kill Marco.

Annie is highly intelligent, able to think deeply about situations and has demonstrated considerable problem-solving ability and quick wit. These personality traits, coupled with her calm demeanor and analytical skills, make her a good strategist. While undercover as a refugee, and later as an apprentice, she does most of the espionage work for the Warriors. Annie also notices the contradictions of the military training system within the Walls and is not fooled by Marleyan propaganda. However, she is a poor liar, being criticized for this by both Eren and Kenny, the former for his apathy towards her martial arts prowess, and the latter when she lies about being his daughter, even sarcastically insisting further. On the other hand, she is very good at detecting other people's lies, as seen when she realizes Armin Arlert's dishonesty long before they reached the underground tunnel, as well as Reiner's lie about befriending his training partners as nothing more than a pragmatic attempt to gain their trust.

She is extremely practical and self-aware, being honest about her strengths and weaknesses, and is rarely prone to self-deception or emotional lapses. Her adoptive father intended to train her to become a warrior so she could live a privileged life. Thus, from a young age, Annie underwent rigorous combat training with Leonhart. At some point in her childhood, Annie joined the Marleyan military as a warrior candidate, meeting comrades such as Bertolt Hoover, Reiner Braun, and Marcel Galliard. Annie was praised for her impeccable combat skills and was subsequently chosen as one of the seven promising candidates to inherit the power of the Titans. She was subsequently granted the power of the Female Titan in recognition of her stellar combat skills.

Along with the rest of their fellow warriors, the six Titans under Marley's command used their powers to crush an entire nation, testing their abilities in the process. The six Warriors proved to be more effective weapons than their predecessors, greatly alleviating Marley's concerns about entrusting the upcoming Operation Paradis Island to children.

Annie was selected as one of the four Warriors to carry out this mission, alongside the Jaw, Armored, and Colossus Titans. Before departing Marley to begin Operation Paradis Island, Annie paraded through the streets in a horse-drawn carriage with Reiner, Bertolt, and Marcel, and was recognized as a Warrior for saving the world from the inhabitants of Paradis Island. Of the members of the 104th Training Corps, Annie is one of the strongest fighters, along with Mikasa and Eren. Crystallization: Annie had the ability to harden portions of her skin at will, somewhat similar to the Armored Titan's ability as stated by Erwin. However, unlike the Armored Titan, Annie's hardened skin could not be maintained for extended periods as it would splinter if struck. Annie employed this ability in various situations for various effects. The armor was hard enough that soldiers' swords could not pierce through it and thus Annie could effectively defend herself against any attacks, even those coming from Eren in his Titan form. She also used this ability for destructive attacks, being able to severely damage Eren's Titan body by hardening his fists or legs. In this way, she also avoided hurting herself unlike Eren, who easily lost even entire limbs after performing attacks in his Titan form. After being captured and extracted, Annie used this ability to generate an incredibly durable crystal cocoon to trap herself and avoid interrogation, similar to the Hardening ability.

Titan Control: Annie was able to summon pure Titans, though her range was limited. Annie was the one who led the Titans near Shiganshina District before the Colossus and Armored Titans breached Wall Maria. During the 57th expedition, she was able to lead an army of Titans to destroy a portion of the Survey Corps' formation in order to capture Eren. Later, after being caught by the Survey Corps, she also cleverly used her ability to attract Titans, as upon hearing her screams, all nearby Titans ignored any other humans and rushed to her location, devouring her Titan form. This allowed Annie to effectively escape the Survey Corps' trap in her human form undetected. This ability was similar to the Founding Titan,
