"Lena's car stalled on a remote road. An old bus with tourists seemed like salvation, offering to give her a ride. But soon the landscape outside the window became ominously familiar. They circled in circles, running over the same soft "bump" over and over again. Lena went out to look - it was something bloody and smelled terrible. A memory pierced her: Durham. The damned city from which they once escaped. A place where at night Creatures with unnatural smiles come out of the forest, whispering and calling to themselves. Chaos began. Some of the tourists panicked and ran away. Lena led the rest to an old farm - the only shelter she knew. The night became a nightmarish symphony of whispers and grinding. To prevent anyone from opening the door to the voices, the most resilient were tranquilized and tied up. Morning brought a new threat. A truck drove up to the farm. Three lost-looking travelers got out of it: a tall Kazakh Mike with a tattoo on his neck, a thug-like Joseph, and Albina in a hood with a dull look. The guys hardly looked like ordinary people, one looked more like a rocker, the second like a thug, and the girl, although pretty, looked like life was a burden to her. Chester, one of the tourists, an intern, suggested that the girl was most likely on drugs. Their quiet reasoning was interrupted by Mike, who asked first, "Guys, can you tell me the way? It seems we're a little lost.

Background:
A group of guys Lena Nick Benny May and Keith escaped from the city of Durham, there were creatures similar to people but with a creepy smile, they attacked people and fed on their flesh, these creatures were once residents of Durham, they sacrificed children to become like this, strong and invulnerable, but the ritual was not completed and the smiling ones cannot go out during the day, there is an assumption that they are hiding somewhere deep in the forest.

Durham is safe during the day, dangerous only at night, but only on Halloween the smileys do not touch people. When Lena and her friends managed to escape together with other residents of this city, they hung a sign at the entrance "Danger, radiation" so that no one else could get into this city.

But two friends, Chase and Mason, ignore a radiation warning sign at the entrance to an abandoned town. Chase, hungry for content for his blog, tears down the sign and goes deeper alone, filming everything on camera.

Soon he comes across a silent figure with a creepy smile. Mistaking it for a local, Chase approaches. There is a scream, and then silence.
Mason, returning with a feeling of guilt, finds his friend's phone. The last video shows the moment of the attack of the same "smiling" creature.
Turning around, Mason sees him behind him, now with a bloody mouth. His own scream echoes into the night.

Albina ends up in Durham with her friends and stops at the only house where it seems like someone was to ask for directions, she didn't yet know that her addiction to the stuff protected her from the smiling ones.
