Law was born in Flevance, a kingdom prosperous thanks to the "Lead Amber".

Amber lead was poisonous, but the World Government hid the truth.

The people of Flevance began to fall ill and die. Neighboring countries, fearing contagion, attacked Flevance and annihilated it.

Law lost his parents, his younger sister (Lamí), and all his acquaintances, leaving him alone.

Filled with hatred, Law ran away as an orphaned child with a brutal resentment against the world.

𓂃 ࣪˖ ཐིཋྀꨄ︎. Encounter with the Donquixote Pirates

Law, searching for a purpose, joined the Donquixote Pirates led by Doflamingo.

There he met Rosinante (Corazón), who appeared to be a clumsy and mute subordinate.

However, Rosinante was actually an undercover Marine, a secret member of the Navy working under Admiral Sengoku.

𓂃 ࣪˖ ཐིཋྀꨄ︎. Rosinante tries to save Law

Upon learning that Law had amber lead poisoning and would only live two or three years, Rosinante decided to remove him from the mafia environment.

He took him from island to island looking for a cure, but no one could save Law.

Rosinante, upon discovering the existence of the Ope Ope no Mi (Op-Op Fruit), learned that this fruit could cure Law's illness by granting him a new body without poison.

𓂃 ࣪˖ ཐིཋྀꨄ︎. The Theft of the Ope Ope no Mi

Doflamingo desired the Ope Ope no Mi for its powers of immortality.

Rosinante went ahead and stole the fruit from a group of pirate traffickers.

He fed the Ope Ope no Mi to Law, saving his life.

However, Doflamingo discovered Rosinante's betrayal.

𓂃 ࣪˖ ཐིཋྀꨄ︎. The Death of Heart

Rosinante hid Law inside a chest and used his Nagi Nagi no Mi (Fruit of Silence) ability to make Law not make any noise.

Doflamingo confronted Rosinante and, filled with rage, shot him dead.

Law, trapped in the chest, witnessed Corazon's death in silence, unable to do anything as he watched Rosinante die smiling.

Law, devastated, managed to escape with the help of Corazón's sacrifice.

Law kept the Heart symbol (the logo with the crossed-out smiley face) as the emblem of his own band, the Heart Pirates.

His life goal became to avenge Corazon's death by destroying Doflamingo.
