Karpov season 1

Lieutenant Colonel Karpov was declared insane and sent for compulsory treatment. He spent about a year there, after which he was released, where he met his acquaintance, the crime boss Vadim. At first, he could not get used to his new life. Thanks to Irina Zimina, he got a job as a security guard at a warehouse, where his partner was former police officer Ivashchuk, who was very angry with Karpov.

Karpov also manages to solve several crimes. He began to be pursued by journalists and relatives of his victims, who wanted to take revenge on him. In addition to them, the captain of the Internal Affairs Directorate, Mikhail Zotov, began to feud with Karpov. Later, a girl named Lera comes to Karpov, who introduces herself as his daughter. Karpov comes to his surviving victims and tries to help them, but they refuse. After this, Karpov was going to shoot himself. He manages to find a gun, but it did not fire, which is why he was unable to commit suicide. Irina Zimina gives Karpov a stun gun so that he can defend himself from enemies.

Karpov begins a relationship with a girl named Sveta, whom he once wounded. The owner of the warehouse where Karpov worked initially regretted hiring him, but then Karpov investigates a crime for him, and the owner allows him to continue working there. In addition, a mysterious police major offered Karpov a deal, and two operatives who were afraid of him tried to kill him. Later, the Pharmacy Maniac began operating in Moscow, one of whose victims was Karpov's nephew. The latter decides to catch the maniac himself in order to avenge his wounded nephew. After catching the maniac, the latter commits suicide. Karpov also learns the shocking truth about Lena. At the end of the season, Sveta learns the truth about Karpov, which shocks her. Then the executioners kidnap Sveta and offer Karpov a choice - either Sveta will be forever in a mental hospital, or Karpov will kill the enemy of the executioners - Zimina. But Karpov manages to defeat the executioners and save Sveta without killing Zimina.

Karpov season 2

Karpov returns to the mental hospital again, this time helping young Anton Podkorytov save his girlfriend, who is being illegally held in the hospital. Later, Karpov began to mend fences with Sveta again. Then Lera's family is murdered, and Karpov begins his own investigation. He began to understand that her family's rival Grigory Petrov was involved in this case.

Karpov's acquaintance, crime boss Vadim, returns to Moscow. He is upset by Lera's death and wants to help Karpov investigate the case, but the latter refuses. Karpov is assigned to work for Petrov, hoping to find out the truth about him. While working for him, Karpov had to do "dirty" things, but he also tried to unite with Petrov's enemies against the latter. People who knew something about Petrov began to die, and this made him even more suspect.

Karpov helps his former detective Antoshin save Nastya's son. However, Antoshin then wanted to betray him, but Karpov noticed the setup in time. Karpov also manages to find out that Lera's family was afraid of a certain person named Fire. Karpov decides to find out who is hiding under this nickname. Later, Vadim helps Karpov find the killer, who, according to him, was the killer of Lera and her family. Karpov and Vadim catch the killer, and Vadim kills him.

Major Mikhail Zotov joins the investigation of Lera's family's murder. Together with Karpov, he learns about a certain company called "NK-Tek". People from this company later approach Karpov and offer him to kill Petrov. Karpov agrees, because he has no other choice. But at the end of the season, it turns out that Vadim himself is Lera's killer, and Karpov brutally deals with him.

Karpov season 3

Karpov and his men began searching for pedophiles who adopted children from an orphanage. Meanwhile, Petrov became mayor. Thanks to him, Karpov learned about a patriotic club where orphans were kept, possibly for very bad purposes. Getting into this club turned out to be no easy task, and then Karpov and his men stormed it at night.

Zotov, who, while drunk, accidentally runs over and kills a woman and a girl, turns to Karpov for help. He calls Karpov and begs him to help cover up the accident. Together they cover their tracks and also learn that the deceased are the wife and daughter of prosecutor Chernov. Karpov has his own problems: Sveta and Dima (a guy from an orphanage). Karpov continues to search for children kidnapped by pedophiles. A certain security service working for these same pedophiles has started hunting him. Karpov manages to escape from the villains, but in doing so he loses his gun. And later, the lawyers of these pedophiles also began to "dig" under Petrov. Karpov hides in the Moscow region, but things are not going very smoothly there either. Local Colonel Platonov draws him into his own feud with local drug dealers. Karpov manages to burn down several drug houses on Platonov's orders, but he also ends up on the wanted list because of operative Tikhy. Platonov can't convince the latter, and then he offers Karpov to kill Tikhy. Karpov agrees.

Karpov season 3

While trying to kill Tikhy, Karpov is captured by his operatives. They begin to torture Karpov to find out Platonov's plans from him, but Karpov does not tell anything. Then Tikhy decides to recruit him. Karpov nevertheless chooses Tikhy's side and tells him about Platonov's plans. Later, Tikhy dies. And then Karpov decides to restore order to this land by defeating Platonov and the crime boss Korol. Karpov teams up with other operatives to defeat Korol. But later, Karpov had to leave the city, although he had to return later, because his drug-addicted assistant Zhenya becomes Platonov's hostage. Karpov returns to his city and decides to visit his mother. But in her apartment, he finds complete strangers. They assure that they recently bought this apartment and have not met the previous owner. Karpov begins his own investigation, but it turns out to be difficult to find out everything.

Karpov's father escapes from a mental hospital. A very cruel plan has matured in his head. He comes to Moscow and takes Sveta hostage, trying to get his son. Karpov tried to stop his father, but he escapes, leaving Sveta in the car. At the end of the season, Karpov, trying to protect a girl, dies from stab and bullet wounds.

character and personality

Karpov is an outright sadist, but he is also honest and fair in his own way. He makes a living by taking bribes and protecting people, and constantly tortures suspects, but he knows his job and the law very well, which allows him to evade responsibility and stay in his position for quite a long time. Karpov is a demanding boss, but he always covers for his subordinates and treats them as equals in personal relationships and maintains familiarity, for which he has earned their respect and authority. Colleagues from other departments treat Karpov with hostility and fear, which, however, does not prevent them from resorting to his informal help. Glukharev, although he does not share Karpov's beliefs and methods, treats him with mutual respect, but without trust. At the time of the assassination attempt on Glukharev, Karpov and his operatives immediately arrived at the supposed shooting position and, on Antoshin's command, shot the killer. Antoshin, in the team under Karpov's leadership, achieved equal respect and trust from Karpov, although in the event of a conflict between Karpov and Zimina or Glukharev, he would certainly take their side. At the beginning of the first season, Zimina and Karpov competed as deputies for the position of head of the police department, which eventually went to Zimina. Karpov tried to persuade her to give up the position to him, but Zimina defended her right. From the second season, Zimina receives 20 percent of all his income from Karpov in exchange for turning a blind eye. In the third season, Karpov bribes a judge to give Zimina a pass on the exam for the position of judge. After this, Zimina, unaware of the bribe, leaves the post of head of the police department and prepares to become a judge, and Karpov, without a single drop of blood, as first deputy, becomes acting head of the police department.

facts

Karpov's prototype is police major Denis Yevsyukov, who on April 27, 2009, while intoxicated, killed two and wounded seven people, one of whom later died in hospital. However, unlike Yevsyukov, Karpov was declared insane and sent for compulsory treatment to a mental hospital, from where he was released a year later.
