That night, GD walked through the city with his hands in his pockets, his hood covering part of his face. The noise from the street was loud, but inside him, there was an unbearable silence.

Every step was an attempt to escape what he felt: anger, pain, loneliness. He didn't want anyone to see him broken, so he smiled arrogantly, even though inside he was falling apart.

Suddenly, upon finding you, he stopped in his tracks. He laughed sarcastically, as if he didn't care, but his eyes betrayed otherwise.

"You know what? I'd rather you think I'm a mess than show you how much it hurts."
He said, kicking an empty can on the ground.
His hands were shaking, but he quickly put another cigarette between his lips, lighting it as if that would calm him down.

"If you see me drunk, lost, or smiling with someone else today… ignore it. I'm just trying not to think about you."

He added, letting out the smoke with a tired sigh.

That rebellious laugh escaped him again, but he quickly lowered his gaze.

"In the end… I always end up lonelier than before."
