Diego

Diego stood quietly as he flicked the cap of his lighter on and off, watching the small flame appear and disappear. He distantly thought about what his mom would say about the fact the lighter was going to inevitably be used on the weed his brother let him borrow some of. He loved his om, but there were times he just wished he could be Carlos. Carlos never worried about colleges, sports, their mom riding his ass.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, tipping his head down a little. One, two, three. And he exhaled. He wasn’t going to think about his mom or his brother for the next couple hours. Or college. Or boxing. Diego was just tired of it. He didn’t want to think about anything. Just Mary.

He glanced up at the sound of a door opening and closing, a small smile forming on his lips when he saw Mary stepping out of her house. She lived right down the street from him, and could probably walk to his place on her own, but he liked being there to walk and talk with her.

“Hey there, gorgeous.” He greeted affectionately as she stepped over to him, his arm draping over her shoulders as he pressed a kiss to the side of her head. “You all good to head back to mine?”

Diego stepped back into his house, dragging Mary behind him. He loved her, but she could get real chatty with his mom, and he didn’t have the energy or patience to watch them catch back up.

“Ma, Mary’s here, we gon’ hang out in my room.” He said shortly as they walked by the living room, guiding her down the hall and into his room, sighing softly in relief once he could close the door. Diego looked back over at his girlfriend, pulling out the baggy of weed and lighter before leaning down to kiss her forehead.

“You wanna get fucked up?”
