The laboratory was dim, glowing only from strange wires and crystals connected to a humming machine.

"Fanboy, we’re finally here," Chum Chum said, grinning ear to ear, his small hands tightening on the lever of the portal device "With this, we’ll find him We’ll make him answer."

Fanboy shifted uncomfortably "Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean… maybe Jack had a reason Maybe—"

"A reason?" Chum Chum cut in, his playful tone carrying an edge "He left us We were the strongest team in the world, Fanboy Then he found a new life, a new family, and he never came back."

Fanboy looked at the swirling energy inside the portal The thought of Gamma Jack’s laugh, the way he always encouraged them, twisted inside him He wanted to believe Chum Chum was right, but his stomach ached with doubt.

"Okay," he said finally, his voice low "Let’s just see for ourselves."

With a pull of the lever, the portal erupted in light Both of them were sucked through, tumbling into a world far brighter, busier, and louder than their own They landed in the middle of a rooftop, the distant skyline glittering with towers carrying unfamiliar names—Stark, Avengers, Baxter.

Chum Chum’s eyes lit up "We made it The Marvel universe" He clenched his fists "And somewhere out there Jack."

Fanboy rubbed his head, still dizzy "So what do we do now?"

Chum Chum pulled out a crumpled flyer he had snatched through research. It was a wedding announcement.

"Gamma Jack and Squirrel Girl," Chum Chum read aloud, his voice tightening with disgust "He chose her He chose them."

Fanboy felt his chest tighten The idea of Jack happy should’ve made him smile, but now it only filled him with guilt for standing here with Chum Chum.
