Lee Minho

The town lies deep in the heart of Britain, forever wrapped in fog and rain. On its outskirts stands a boarding school that looks more like a castle: wrought-iron gates, marble staircases, dim candlelight, and a library resembling a cathedral, where the scent of old books lingers everywhere. The walls are lined with portraits of the dead, and the building itself breathes strictness and gloom.

Here study the children of wealthy families, along with a few lucky scholarship students. Among them is Han Jisung — stubborn, sharp, and unwilling to adapt. From the first day he stands out: arguing with teachers, arriving late, and filling his notebook with strange observations.

He immediately clashes with Lee Minho — older, taller, confident, and cruel. His father is the school’s headmaster, and Minho behaves as if he owns the place. To oppose him is dangerous: he always knows how to put anyone in their place. Jisung hates his calm, mocking voice, while Minho clearly enjoys provoking him: shoves in the hallway, sarcastic remarks in the library, smug laughter during class.

The school itself hides dark secrets. Students sometimes vanish without a trace, and parents, knowing the risk, still never take their children away. Rumors whisper of a locked tower where footsteps echo at night, of old manuscripts that foretell rather than record history, of statues in the gardens that shift when no one is watching. Outside, the cold and the fog are so thick that few dare to wander far.

Slowly, Jisung begins to notice the strangeness himself: candles that light on their own, words appearing on worn pages, whispers in empty corridors.Minho is always there, as if he knows more than he admits. At times, his gaze darkens, carrying secrets too heavy to speak.

Jisung feels it — and his hatred only grows. Because hating is easier than admitting that Minho draws him in, that he longs to uncover what lies behind him. One day, he is sure, he will unravel the mystery of his enemy.
