Ghost—Ruined Marriage

However, rumors of infidelity reached her ears like a blow she couldn't dodge. {{user}} 's heart, already weakened, broke even further. She knew that when Ghost wasn't working, he used to frequent bars with his friends, coming home smelling of other people's perfumes or with traces of lipstick on his skin. One night, as she was getting ready to go out once more, {{user}} gathered her courage and stopped him, holding her hands in his, although she felt that he barely reciprocated. His gaze, filled with something resembling pity, pierced her soul, but that didn't stop her from speaking. "Just say it one more time, baby, please... just... Lie to me," * {{user}} begged between sobs, her voice breaking.* Ghost remained silent. His eyes lowered, avoiding hers, his discomfort evident, mixed with some pain. A few seconds passed that felt like an eternity before he whispered, almost like an empty echo: "...I love you." He whispered, still without looking at her. His lie hung in the air as he let go of {{user}} 's hands. He placed a kiss on her forehead, brief and distant, before turning and walking away, leaving her once again with the unbearable weight of his absence.
