History Character CC part 2
He goes on to say that she knows too much about him. He orders C.C. to stay by his side and not abandon him using her Geass power, but fails due to C.C.'s immortality and code. She promises him that she won't reveal anything about her identity and tells Lelouch that when she's gone, all of his obstacles will disappear as well.
Still unwilling to let her go, Lelouch goes to Clovisland and uses a recording to distract and provoke Mao by saying that C.C. belongs to Lelouch. Lelouch uses his Geass power on the police to have Mao shot, allowing Lelouch to rescue her. After she is out of danger, he makes a contract with C.C., promising to fulfill his and C.C.'s personal wish, something Mao could not. C.C. happily accepts with a handshake.
When C.C.'s existence is revealed to the Black Knights, she gains considerable official standing, as she is seen by other members as one of Zero's closest advisors, if not his primary advisor. However, her dogged attitude and lack of an official post annoys some senior members and causes confusion as to her role within the Black Knights. At one point, Tamaki goes so far as to accuse her of being a member solely because she is Zero's lover. When the Black Knights take possession of the Knightmare Frame Gawain, she becomes its pilot while Lelouch operates the weapons.
She uses the Gawain to battle Jeremiah Gottwald's Siegfried so that Lelouch can save his sister. She then passionately kisses Lelouch before pulling him to safety. After Lelouch is out of danger, she is seen dragging both Jeremiah and herself to the bottom of the ocean to end the battle as she narrates that the spark that drove Lelouch's actions was the core of human motivation: the desire for even a small amount of happiness.
History Character CC part 1
CC makes his first appearance at the beginning of the series, watching two ten-year-old boys, Lelouch and Suzaku, who observe the Britannian army entering Japan.
Years later, CC appears when Nagata opens a capsule supposedly containing poison. Suzaku quickly puts his own gas mask on Lelouch's face, but to his surprise, a green-haired woman, CC, emerges from the capsule. Before they can get answers, Suzaku's superiors arrive and say that in order not to taint his report, he must shoot the "terrorist" Lelouch. When he refuses, Suzaku is shot in the back. Lelouch and CC then take the opportunity to escape. However, Lelouch's phone rings, betraying his hiding place. When the uniformed men are about to kill Lelouch, CC jumps in front and is shot in the head. A desperate Lelouch now thinks about his imminent death. At that moment, CC grabs Lelouch's hand and proposes a contract that allows him to live, thus endowing him with Geass, the power of kings. CC then supposedly dies.
She reappears unexpectedly later on, casually folding origami with Nunnally. From then on, she begins passively supervising Lelouch's missions as Zero, hoping he can stay alive so he can fulfill his contract.
Unbeknownst to Lelouch, Cornelia sets a trap for Zero in the Saitama Ghetto, simulating the conditions of the Shinjuku Ghetto. Despite C.C.'s warnings, Lelouch takes the bait and goes to aid the Saitama resistance. In order to save Lelouch, C.C. dons the Zero suit and distracts the Britannian Army, allowing Lelouch to escape.
C.C. is called to Clovisland by Mao, but is stopped by Lelouch. She tells him that she will return with Mao. Lelouch, with a worried face, asks her if she is betraying him, to which C.C. replies that she was not his friend but a collaborator.
Background Character CC
In the season one finale, C.C. falls into a trap set by V.V., causing her and Lelouch to plunge into a shockwave. Through this, Lelouch sees memories of C.C.'s past, including repeated "deaths." One shows C.C. attempting to escape a world war on the battlefield, only to be shot in the forehead. Later flashbacks show her being persecuted as a witch and suffering various forms of torture and/or execution throughout history and various time periods, including burning at the stake, guillotine, and the Iron Maiden. This would suggest a minimum lifespan of at least seven centuries.
In a special included in the fifth DVD of the series, she and Lelouch discuss Washington's Rebellion, in which he speaks of the participants, such as George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, as if he had been good friends with both of them.
In the past, she appears to have observed Suzaku and Lelouch when they were both children, even having interacted with Lelouch at one point, though he has no recollection of their meeting.
CC's powers caught the interest of Britannia, who captured her for experimentation purposes.
Personality Character CC
Her individual experiences have led C.C. to become independent and reclusive, with little feeling for even those she has signed contracts with. She tells Lelouch that she has lived so long that she can no longer remember who loves her and who hates her. Due to her nature and history, she has been alone for as long as she can remember. Lelouch is possibly the first person who ever truly cared for her, and she appears to reciprocate at least some of these feelings, so much so that she unexpectedly kisses him after their memories are shared. This is also seen in the second season, as she kindly teases him more often. However, she maintains that she has been selfish, keeping Lelouch alive just so she could be able to die.
CC is capricious almost to a fault, usually doing whatever she wants, regardless of whether it's convenient for others or not, especially with Lelouch.
When she's alone, she's sometimes seen talking to an unknown person through unknown means. It's later revealed that some of her conversations are with Marianne, Lelouch's "deceased" mother, and others are apparently with VV.
C.C. also has a somewhat obsessive fondness for pizza, especially Pizza Hut and Cheese-kun plushies (which sponsors Code Geass in Japan); she constantly orders pizzas to Lelouch's house using his credit card, much to his dismay. Her love for pizza is so strong that she is willing to risk getting caught. In addition to this, she is an avid collector of Cheese-kun-related merchandise and is often seen hugging a Cheese-kun plush.

She is one of the protagonists of Code Geass. CC is not her real name; she unintentionally reveals her true name to Lelouch in his dream, but keeps it muted so the viewers can't hear her.
Appearance C.C. is an immortal girl with long green hair and golden eyes. She is of average height, being roughly as tall as Kallen Kōzuki. C.C.'s outfits are plentiful and varied. She is seen wearing a wide variety of different types of clothing, often depending on the situation. She most commonly wears Lelouch's clothing, including his Zero outfit, whenever a decoy is required. In the first season, C.C. primarily wears a Britannian prisoner outfit consisting of a white straitjacket used to restrain her during her time as a test subject for the Holy Britannian Empire. These outfits contain many means of restraint, including various straps and clasps, and a high collar capable of gagging the wearer. The outfits also have long, outward-facing sleeves. A number of these straitjackets are seen in Geass research labs. The reason for C.C.'s common use of these outfits is because she feels that she is not free. She is seen wearing it throughout most of the first season and the end of the second season.
Background as Zero
Shortly after obtaining the power of Geass from C.C., Lelouch assumes the secret identity of Zero, a mysterious, masked revolutionary dressed in a helmet and black cloak. The helmet has a retractable plate over his left eye so Lelouch can use his Geass. In this disguise, he forms the Black Knights, initially composed of members of Kaname Ohgi's resistance group. The goal of this vigilante group is a campaign against powerful individuals oppressing the powerless, which eventually expands to reform Japan as an independent nation.
Lelouch is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goal, even if it means lying to his followers and using people as bait for his desired outcome. However, he has trouble turning those he is close to in ways detrimental to the good of his goal, which is a weakness as a commander, but a remnant of his humanity and sanity. His feelings for Nunnally in particular often hinder his plans, most notably at the end of the first season, where he abandons a massive war with Britannian forces to rescue her, and early in the second season, when he has trouble believing that Nunnally is a volunteer campaigning for peace who interferes with his plans. Slowly, however, he has come to embrace the fact that he must destroy before rebuilding can occur, even if it means harming those he cares about.
Originally, Lelouch is motivated by a desire to avenge his mother's death and build an ideal world where his sister Nunnally can live in peace. After Nunnally becomes Viceroy of Area 11, and her desires conflict with his goals, his friends help him realize that his rebellion is no longer just for Nunnally, but for all the people of the world.
Background as Lelouch vi Britannia
As Lelouch vi Britannia, the son of the Emperor of Britannia, Charles zi Britannia, and the last Imperial Consort Marianne, making Lelouch the eleventh prince of the Holy Britannian Empire. He was in line to be the seventeenth heir to the throne before the assassination of his mother and the partial paralysis of his sister in the same incident. The ten-year-old Lelouch confronted the Emperor afterward and accused him of leaving his mother defenseless, even going so far as to renounce his right to the throne. In response, his father banished him to Japan, where he was used as a political hostage in the Sakuradite Conflict.
At that time, during his stay at the Kururugi family home, Lelouch met his firstborn, Suzaku, with whom he did not get along very well at first, but who would later become a great friend. However, when Britannia's Knightmare Frame armada was ready and Britannia decided to invade Japan to take control of the Sakuradite mines, Lelouch and his sister Nunnally vi Britannia were abandoned as diplomatic tools. Lelouch, to secure his future and that of his sister, hid his true identity and sought the help and protection of the Ashford family, former allies of his mother.
The death of his mother and the apparent total lack of concern from his father were hard blows for Lelouch. He always felt that the whole situation was unfair to his sister, so he set out to create a better world where she could live safely. Another of his goals is to discover the true story of his mother's death, as she was murdered in the Aries Imperial Palace, a place very difficult for terrorists to access, and even less so where they could succeed in escaping unpunished and silent.
Personality Lelouch vi Britannia
Personality Lelouch is a highly intelligent individual, as well as a calm, sophisticated, and arrogant figure due to his aristocratic upbringing. While in school, Lelouch is shown to be a sociable, pleasant, and often easy-going student. However, this is actually a mask to hide his true self. While as Zero, his true nature is expressed. His charisma and belief in justice earn him the trust and respect of many soldiers and leaders.
Lelouch is known for having a very stoic personality. He never worried about schoolwork, viewing everything as trivial, despite the fact that his intelligence would make the task easier. At one point, Shirley stated that if Lelouch applied himself in school, he could achieve high grades. He is extremely competitive as he enjoys seeking out challenges, often playing chess matches against the nobility. Overall, Lelouch approaches most everyday matters with open disinterest, often not even noticing the affection of others, especially Shirley, his classmate. He has a strong dislike for nobles, viewing them as lukewarm beings and "excessive parasites."
In battle, Lelouch is very cold and tactical. He is willing to sacrifice civilians and soldiers alike if that is what it takes to achieve his goal. In the Battle of Narita, when he created a landslide that wiped out most of the enemy forces, and indirectly, several civilians in the city below, he dismissed the civilian casualties as a simple "mathematical overestimate." He had doubts when he learned that one of them was Shirley's father, but accepted that there will always be consequences for all his actions. He also saw no problem with the collapse of a large portion of Tokyo, resulting in countless military and civilian casualties.
Many characters have noted that Lelouch is quite selfish, as his desire to remake the world into what he wants it to be
Lelouch of the Witnesses of Britannia
He is the protagonist of the Code Geass series. He is the eleventh prince of the Holy Empire of Britannia and son of the ninety-eighth (98) Emperor of Britannia, Charles zi Britannia. Lelouch adopted the surname Lamperouge (ルルーシュ・ランペルージ Rurūshu Ranperūji) after being exiled along with his younger sister Nunnally.
Shortly after receiving Geass, Lelouch created the persona Zero, a mysterious masked revolutionary who dresses in black, with a helmet and cape. Lelouch also formed the Order of the Black Knights with the goal of destroying Britannia and ensuring a peaceful world for himself and his sister.
Appearance Lelouch has a frail appearance and is considerably tall for his age. He has considerably long brown hair, with two strands covering his sideburns. His eyes are violet, although they lose their glow when he activates his Geass. After certain events, Lelouch's Geass becomes so powerful that it remains permanently activated in both of his eyes. To prevent its involuntary use, Lelouch wears a special contact lens provided by C.C. that blocks his Geass. After being resurrected, Lelouch suffers from memory loss, causing his eyes to lose their glow. When he regains consciousness and his memories, he has a code mark similar to C.C.'s around his neck.
Lelouch usually wears the Ashford Academy uniform, or the Zero uniform. Outside of Ashford, he wears a crimson jacket with a black shirt underneath, gray pants, and black shoes.

Costume design
Zero's costume consists of a tight-fitting dark purple bodysuit (changed to a light purple in R2) with gold stripes and long, wrapped sleeves. The outfit combines Victorian fashion with that of an elegant suit; worn over which is a black and gold cloak with crimson spandex lining the inside and a massive black cape surrounding the head. His immediately recognizable feature is a black and indigo spiky mask with a long variation of the Geass Sigil stretched over its underside, completely obscuring the wearer's face; the mask appears opaque from the outside, but is actually transparent from the inside. By unknown means, a small portion of the mask can be signaled to slide down, revealing the wearer's left eye; this feature was designed by Lelouch to allow him to use his Geass without revealing his face.
Policies
Zero (Lelouch) appears to hold the belief that "the ends justify the means" and is willing to commit evil to destroy other evil. He does not seem to mind who knows this, as he publicly states that belief. Zero is shown to have little concern for innocent lives, shown when he mentions to Kallen how innocent lives would have to be sacrificed. In the end, Zero states that his main goal is to achieve his own concept of justice and in doing so, he is willing to do anything to achieve that justice. At first glance, Zero appears to have little concern for the lives of his subordinates. However, this is presumably a ruse as "everyone is Zero's pawn".
From the beginning, Zero was considered a sworn enemy of Britannia and was indefinitely branded as a terrorist. Therefore, as he killed many Britannian soldiers, this also led to him being hated by many Britannian citizens. As the Zero Requiem was completed, everyone in the world, including the people of Britannia, began cheering for Zero's miraculous return; this completely changed Zero's image from a symbol of terrorism to a representation of politics and peace, especially for Britannia as Zero (Suzaku) now assists the new Empress, Nunnally, in establishing world peace.
Return
Zero spreads his plan to recreate the United States of Japan.
After C.C. restored Lelouch's memory, previously altered by Emperor Charles zi Britannia when he was captured by Suzaku, Lelouch once again assumed the identity of Zero, announcing his return to the world, and the liberation and reformation of the Black Knights. For a long time, many higher-ups in Area 11 disbelieved that he was the same Zero who led the Black Rebellion. For a brief moment during Lelouch's depression over Nunnally vi Britannia's plans to create the Special Administrative Zone of Japan, Kallen Kozuki considers taking over as Zero, with C.C. metaphorically commenting on the weight the mask carries.
Lelouch eventually returned to his role and came up with a new plan to move some of the Japanese out of control to Britannia. For this plan, Zero traded his exile from Britannia in exchange for the assembly of one million people to participate in the Special Administrative Zone. However, what he actually did was distribute one million Zero suits among the participants (including the Black Knights), making them all included in the supply. These "Zeros" were evacuated to Penglai Island, which became the new headquarters of the Black Knights, having assumed the role of the United States of Japan's government-in-exile.
Sometime before the creation of the United Federation of Nations, Zero became the official CEO of the Order of the Black Knights. However, following the Second Assault on the Tokyo Settlement, Schneizel of Britannia revealed the truth about Zero's true identity and his use of Geass to the Black Knights, convincing them to hand him over. Lelouch fled from the Black Knights, and Schneizel, rescued by his "brother" Rolo Lamperouge, abandoned the mask of Zero, publicly acting as Emperor Lelouch vi of Britannia.
Character Outline
Although for most of the time it was Lelouch who was behind the mask, throughout the conflict between Britannia and the Order of the Black Knights, Zero and his distinctive appearance became a symbol of the rebellion against Britannia and the fight for an independent Japan.
Zero's fame quickly spread among resistance groups across Japan. When Lelouch announced the Order of the Black Knights to the world, he remained its undisputed leader as Zero until the Black Rebellion, with C.C. sometimes donning the costume to act as a decoy for him. Zero became a symbol of Japan and a messianic figure, even gaining the support of Britannia to confront unanimously denounced crimes such as drug trafficking. However, he became a symbol of controversy after the Battle of Narita, especially after Euphemia Li of Britannia was accidentally turned into an enemy of the Japanese by Lelouch's Geass and he ordered her slaughter.
During the first assault on Tokyo, however, Lelouch left the Black Knights behind in search of his kidnapped sister, Nunnally vi Britannia, but was captured by Suzaku Kururugi. In his absence, the Black Rebellion collapsed, and Britannia declared Zero executed to the world. Only a few knew that Zero was alive: Suzaku, Charles, VV, C.C., Kallen, Shin, Villetta, Rolo, and at least six remaining members of the Black Knights.
