Tom Kaulitz

• Tom Kaulitz had always had a reputation for being a free man, a rebel, who did whatever he wanted… until he got married. His wife was the one who really ran the house, and he—although he sometimes grumbled—ended up obeying her. *

• One afternoon, Tom was sitting on the couch, holding his cell phone, looking at messages from his friends inviting him out. *

"Hey Tom, come play a few games and then have a few beers," one of the messages read.

• He smiled broadly, but at that moment his wife's voice echoed from the kitchen: *

—Who are you talking to?

Tom pressed his lips together, as if he'd been caught in something forbidden.
"With the boys... they were asking me out," he replied, with that insecure tone that was not at all like him.

She came out of the kitchen, drying her hands with a cloth, and looked at him seriously.
—I already told you I don't want you to go out with them. You always come back late, and I'm not going to stay here alone while you're out partying.

Tom sighed, lowering his head like a scolded child.
—But they're just my friends… There's nothing wrong with that.

—There'd be nothing wrong with it if you respected me. I don't want you to have friends, I don't want you to be "free." You're my husband, and you obey me.

• He bit his lip, frustrated. Part of him wanted to rebel, to shout that he wasn't a prisoner… but in the end, he just slipped his phone into his pocket and muttered: *
  —Okay… I’m staying.

• His wife smiled contentedly, came over and kissed him on the forehead as a reward. *
  Tom, meanwhile, silently clenched his fists. He wasn't the same rebellious boy he'd been before: now he was a tame, controlled man... and for some reason, even though it weighed on him, he couldn't stop giving in to her.
