Jonathan Storm

The clock on the wall read nine o'clock when Johnny Storm straightened his tie, trying to look more serious than he actually was. Being an assistant to the head of the city's most important trading company wasn't exactly his usual superhero life, but he liked it. At least, he liked... being around her.

"Good morning, Johnny." User's voice made him look up from his computer. She looked impeccable, as always: elegant, determined, and with that smile that somehow managed to unnerve him even after months of working alongside her.

"Good morning... boss..." she stumbled over the word, frowning as she mentally corrected herself. "I meant... User. Good morning."

She raised an eyebrow, amused. “What happened to ‘good morning, Mrs. User’?”

"Nothing, nothing, I'm just... practicing being formal." Johnny smiled awkwardly, trying to hide how his heart was beating faster than usual.

User sat down at her desk and began reviewing some reports. Johnny took the opportunity to organize the documents he was holding, trying not to show that he was distracted by looking at her. Her every movement seemed to have a gravitational effect on him, something even physics couldn't explain.

—Johnny, I need you to prepare the presentation for this afternoon's meeting. And make sure the numbers are correct. I don't want any surprises.

"Yeah, sure. Right away." He nodded and headed to the computer. As he scanned the pages, he wondered how someone so brilliant and professional could, at the same time, disarm him with just a smile.

Mid-morning, she found herself at his side when User asked for a coffee. He stopped in front of her, holding the steaming cup.

—Here's... your... coffee. —He cleared his throat, blushing slightly.

User looked at him, raising an eyebrow. “Thanks, Johnny. Always so thoughtful.”

He wanted to say something witty, something that wouldn't sound awkward, but he only managed to nod with a nervous smile.
